NYTA tribute thread

I've played with NYTA, he's a very good player and a class act. I hope he changes his mind and comes back at some point. Nice try btw @atp2015, seeing if a good old fashioned flame war can bring him back. ;)

I'm saying questionable things about him, but I wouldn't start a tribute thread if I didn't care about him...but you knew it. I have read nice things about him from folks who have met and played tennis with him in real life.

I hope he comes back, too. He is one of the better posters and actually contributes helpful and interesting information. Plus he actually plays tennis and has played and met up with other TTW posters.

Would rather of one NYTA then 10 dgolds who post endless look-at-me threads that have nothing to do with tennis.

Interesting ttps has not joined in support of nyta. Hmm... after all. Nyta was a defender of ponytail boy. Why is that you guys think?

Why close account when you can just keep it and not sign in? Doesn't take up any space or whatever

After being away from tennis and TT forum for ~5 months, I can see why NYTA and others may have deleted their accounts:
1. TT forums take up time and energy that could be spent more productively elsewhere.
2. The absolutely WORST, MOST RIDICULOUS tips/instructions are found in this forum by people who are clueless about real life, competition tennis.
3. People can waste a lot of $ on rackets/strings/other equipment that make their game worse by constantly making unnecessary changes.

Bottom line, for me, TT is a good place to pass time and have fun talking about tennis.
But it will most likely make your game worse than if you just go out and practice/play instead of listening to 3.5's who think they can hit FH's like Federer.

TT is fun because I get inspired by both kinds of people here, some are genuine some are just not. It is like observing and watching Korean, Japan drama but exclusive to tennis :)

Double account is not permitted. You got to delete the existing account before signing up for one more.

What are you saying? Why NYTA need to delete his account when he just doesn't need to sign in? Just keep it there until few months later when he change his mind.

I didn't say he needed to delete his account. I guess it's easier to keep away from posting if you don't have an account that you can sign in quickly though you can read all posts without it.

You're saying a person doesn't have the small amount of discipline not to keep away from signing in? First step would be not to type in the Talk Tennis website, second would be signing in.

I'm sure he has enough discipline to be able to do that. Plus I think he might still be reading the forums.

You have a valid point. Do you know all addicts know that whatever they are addicted to is bad but still do it.
Discipline is not easy. I keep all junk food as away as possible from me to save myself from indulging.. a lot of people do that.
If you can execute 100 pct per plan, consider yourself very very lucky.

Right on!

If a person is deluded and uses TT forums in the wrong way, ie spending unnecessary time, energy, getting wrong tennis stuff, they should leave, stay away.

This place is good for those who enjoy their time and energy spent here, or getting helpful tennis stuff. Man, my tennis is getting better and better. :)

Agreed. :)

Quitting drinking (but why abuse drinking in the first place to the point that you need to quit?) doesn't just take not drinking. It very much takes keeping away or not accessing drinks at all also.

And what exactly would I waste my time on if not here? Answer me that, Mr. Smarty Pants!

I can't tell you what to do but in the 5 months I was away from this forum, I cured cancer, ended world hunger and brokered peace in the Middle East.
In my spare time, I went around the world in a helium balloon, twice.
You could have also earned some achievements in League of Legends.

After all these accomplishments, sorry to see you among big losers...

NYTA was great. You would think if he were quitting he would have posted a farewell. I did notice one of his last posts was edited by a moderator ... something about a pro called Alan ... I can't imagine he would have said anything so bad about the guy that he would get banned. No matter what he said, you would think a poster like him would get a second chance.

NYTA, just admit that you are sneaking among us with your fake doubles pretending you are not with us, just show yourself already :D

Minute 1.45 - on that's me in the White T-shirt ... Simon teaching me his fh

Interesting that he is teaching rotating the shoulder through contact. I think the ATP pros pause/stop rotation, arm then continues forward on it's own to contact, and then momentum of follow through then pulls around UB some more. It is scary to think Simon's fh could get better ... wish I had it.

I thought what Alex said at the first of the video was key ... slow at first and fast later in swing.

Looks like you guys were having fun. (y)

Edit: Checked Simon FHs again ... and he is hitting weight transfer FHs off left leg. In following video ... Peter Clark calls them square stance FHs. Watch several FHs starting at 00:30. Shoulder rotation stops around nipples to the net ... maybe slightly past ... and no right leg coming up into another step. Curious to why he teaches that.

Which part of video talks about rotating the shoulder through contact?...

Camp looks good except where Simon makes the campers run and hop around the court. :(

Simon doesn't say it ... but does it on his FHs starting at 01:45. He hits quality fh with with apparently great extension, and then does the continued rotation through contact and a step with right leg after.

Compare that to the Fed video I posted in post #91 ... watch his FHs starting at 00:30. No shoulder rotation through contact or right leg step after.

Of course the most important thing was @dimkin ripped the pee pee out of that first FH @01:58 8-B(y)

He obviously doesn't know how to play tennis, he should probably visit this forum so ttw members can teach him how you really hit a forehand.
