That women's field is really decimated. I wouldn't put my money on any of the players between 4 and 8, and even Venus would be an enormous liability.

Serena is the overwhelming favorite, as Justine is certainly not ready for taking her on: both mentally and physically she'll be extremely tired, she might even go out in the next round.

The men's side is wide open on the other hand.Anyone of the first five could take it. The last three are less probable.

Henin's odds seems generous given her play so far here. It is not like she is playing great tennis at this event. I would give her barely better odds than Venus and not that close to Serena.

As for the men Murray's odds are too generous. Djokovic might be the best odds at that price even though he isnt my pick to win. Davydenko isnt worth it even at those odds, his last round only confirmed he isnt ready to win a slam.

Well the good news for Justine is her semifinal should be a breeze atleast if she beats Petrova. If she can play better tonight and have an easier win she shoud be completely fresh again for the final. Just not sure whether or not she can play a strong enough match to beat an in form Serena right now.

Nobody outside the top 3 women has a prayer of winning the title anyway. OK maybe Petrova has a small shot so 4 of them at most. The men left all have some shot of the title, even if a small one. More evidence of the wide disparity in depth between the ATP and WTA these days.

Roddick still remains the best value for a bet, and should be higher than al but Fed, Nadal and Djoker. Unlike Davy and Murray, he is the favourite in his QF match. Unlike Davy and Murray he has made a recent slam final.

If Roddick were to beat Cilic, i would give him a better chance of taking our Murray / Nadal than I would Djokovic / Tsonga beating Federer. Then if Roddick and Fed faced in the final, it would be their 1st matchup since Wimbledon. Revenge anyone?

Im not saying it would happen, but If I had to place a bet outside the top 3, thats who it would be

On the flip side, why is Murray so high. He has to play the defending champ, who owned them in their last HC match, who wont give you any free points. Then he would have to play Roddick or Cilic, who both beat him in slams in 09, then if he won that, it would likely be Federer who has owned Murray in their last 2.

Simply put, and I hate to say it, but Federer has the cards in his hands right now

Cilic LAST?!? I'm no bettor, but that doesn't sound right to me. I think I'd put Nadal and Djokovic ahead of Murray and Tsonga over Roddick, based on their recent play. I'd then put Cilic over Tsonga.

Agree with the womens side, although i hope henin wins, because that would be amazing. Doubtful though, considering how serena's playing.

Davydenko at 8? I guess that makes sense, if you feel he has zero shot of beating Fed. (which I tend to think is true.)

Yeah, i don't think he's beaten federer at a grandslam yet, federer plays far better in slams then other tournaments, has good momentum going after owning Hewitt in straight sets.

I put djoker ahead of murray because he's playing some great tennis, murray is just sorta counterpunching along..nothing to amazing except for a couple points against isner. Thought about putting roddick ahead of murray, because i think he's going to lose to nadal in 4.

It's not totally based on their "recent play". The odds are also based on how much support the player has had by people putting their money behind them.

Murray hasn't dropped a set so far so he's the one people have decided to put money on, if the bookmakers didn't shorten his odds and he did go on to win then they would be seriously out of pocket.
