Odds To Win Men's Australian Open 2023

Obviously, those odds were calculated back in November. Until the draw is out, all of this is just conjecture.

Not only is Alcaraz out now, but Kyrgios hasn't played a match this year because of an ankle injury and Sinner hurt his hip in the match against Korda yesterday. Plus, Nadal has gone 0-2 in his two warm-up matches. FAA lost in the first round of his first tournament to a qualifier.

The only Slam winners that seem to be in decent form at the moment are Djoker and Medvedev, who play each other in Adelaide tonight. In the United Cup, Tiafoe is 4-0 and Fritz, Berrettini, and Tsitsipas seem to be playing well... but they'd need to play better to win the Australian...

Looks like Djokovic, Medvedev and Tsitsipas will be the favorites based on current form with Nadal as a dark horse to win. The tier below will be guys like Fritz, Berrettini and FAA if the court is really fast. Probably not the best court for Ruud and Zverev doesn’t seem to be fully recovered. The ultimate wild card is of course Kyrgios at least to make the semifinal.

- Alcaraz out (which causes a big shift in the draw)
- Djokovic wins Adelaide
- Korda looking strong in Adelaide
- some indicative United Cup singles matches have been played

Here are the odds updated one week before the tournament start:

Fritz should be a bit higher IMO, on current form I have him beating at least 3 of those names ahead of him. Mind you, I thought similar at the USO last year and he lost first round...

Hopefully his draw does not include childhood rival Brandon Holt. Tracy Austin’s son must first qualify to have the chance to again present that hurdle for Fritz.
