Of the 15 Grand Slam semifinals that Federer lost, which Grand Slams do you think he goes onto win if he had won the semifinal?

Australian Open -
2005 lost to Safin, 2008 lost to Djokovic, 2011 lost to Djokovic, 2012 lost to Nadal, 2013 lost to Murray, 2014 lost to Nadal, 2016 lost to Djokovic, and 2020 lost to Djokovic

French Open
2005 lost to Nadal, 2012 lost to Djokovic, 2019 lost to Nadal

Wimbledon
2016 lost to Raonic

US Open
2010 lost to Djokovic, 2011 lost to Djokovic, 2014 lost to Cilic

All except:

2020 AO
2019 RG - has a shot but thiem probably too much
2012 RG - loses in straights, might get hot and nick a set or make one of them close
2010 USO - loses in 5 to Nadal. He will fight hard but level wasn’t high enough that tournament
2011 USO - 55/45 vs Nadal.

On the surface, many. Got to look at where these additional wins would occur in relation to what he had already won at the time, though. Example: Beats Hewitt and Puerta to win AO and RG in 2005, but that then means he wins every slam from Wimbledon 2004 up to and including AO 2006, which is is seven straight slams. Unlikely. Also the reason it does not make sense that Fed gets flak for not beating Nadal at RG in 2006 or 2007.

Edit: Will repeat what I've said before: it's a pity we never did get a Fed-Djo AO final.

His knee was already hurt before Wimbledon though. So it's not an "if" situation. Even if he beat Milos in straight sets, he wouldn't have been at his best against Murray.
He still played ok up until he fell in the semi. He could grind out a win over Murray if his knee holds up

He was very lucky to beat Cilic, had to save MPs. Murray is playing much better tennis, and wasn't going to let this one go, with Djokovic out. Federer lost to Thiem on grass that year also.

Okay tennis, but still struggling big time against Cilic and Raonic. Andy is taking that final no matter what imo

I’ll kindly direct you both to their 2015 semi final. Federer goes into AO final as clear favourite and Wimbledon as evens at worst.

The difference between Federer in 2015 and 2016 is night and day.

Murray would be waiting to get his hands on that 2016 version of Federer. Don't forget, he beat him in 2012 in the Olympics final on that very court....he knows how to get the job done.

Olympics situation could happen but federer was very flat and or tired in that one. I’d fancy federer to raise his game against Murray and put him away. Close one but bookies would’ve rightfully had federer as very slight fav.

Federer injured his knee on the clay in 2016, he was in no shape to beat Murray who was at the peak of his powers. Fed was super fortunate that Cilic did not beat him earlier.

Wins 2005, 2011, and 2016 for sure for the AO. 2014 is debatable (Wawrinka really couldn't beat Federer off of clay but I might be nice to him here). 2008 I'm not sure.

For the FO, he wins 2005 against Puerta. Definitely doesn't win 2012. I think Thiem would beat him in 2019 due to age and the fact that Federer was vulnerable to some next gen players later on in the career and often had to houdini his way out of trouble.

For the USO, 2011 is a slight edge to Federer given Nadal's form, and I think he wins 2014 against the guy who is like 2-5000 vs top 10 players.

True he wasn’t great he cilic he kinda limped through that one. Murray may have been a step too far

No way he beats Djokovic in 2013 at the AO.

Vs Murray at Wimbledon in 2016 it all depends on how his knee holds up.
