Frances Tiafoe: Changed from Wilson racquets to Yonex (great move for him imo)

Caroline Garcia: Changed from Babolat to Yonex. Unsure of whether she has retained her Nike apparel deal or whether she will also wear Yonex brand clothing. (bad move for her imo and will play far worse with her Yonex racquets rather than the Pure Aeros that suited her game).

Borna Coric changed from Yonex to Wilson (great move imo)

John Peers has changed to Wilson from Prince

Nishikori to NIKE shoes from Adidas!!!! Retaining Uniqlo apparel.

Fognini now changing to Hydrogen soft goods with Asics runners, leaving his Adidas agreement.

Great list. Slight caveat; Nishikori was still wearing Uniqlo apparel in Brisbane playing Jared Donaldson today. He just switched footwear from Adidas to Nike. Those Vapors do look fantastic though.

Any links to Nishikori actually being under contract with Nike? I didn't know he was actually under contract.

Excellent move to go to the Vapors, much better shoe than Barricades which feel like construction boots.

Yes, I will fix that straight away. The way I have written it makes it look like he changed to Nike everything rather than just shoes. Agree the Nikes look great btw.

Good point. Maybe I should be more careful with my wording. At this stage it would probably be better to say there is a commercial agreement in place rather than an official sponsorship.

I can confirm that his previous agreement with Adidas has been terminated, but you're right, I shouldn't say there is a contract with Nike until there is something concrete to refer to.

I can read *just* enough Japanese to see quite a few mentions in the Japanese domestic media of the change (Kei is MASSIVE in Japan) but I have jumped the gun calling it a sponsorship contract.

Its cool. Just good to see Kei in the Vapes. I don't know if Nike is the kind of company to give just a shoe contract while he wears someone else's clothes…they don't even let their sponsored pros wear patches.
 
nice list. I didn't know about Wickmayer. Do you think Yonex is setting itself up to do what Babolat did about a decade ago. Kind of come out of nowhere to get all the big names using their sticks which then meant every club had a majority of players with that brand?

Berdych did the same with H&M I believe. I think as long as the clothing brand doesn't offer shoes also it's ok.

Sumitomo, who own the Dunlop brand in Asia, also own Srixon.

Sumitomo is currently in the process of purchasing the worldwide rights to Dunlop from Sports Direct. After this sale is completed, look for a lot more players to sign with Srixon. Their corporate goal is to have 20 players in the top 100 be the end of 2018. Expect them to accomplish this with $$$

Any insights on what they are going to do with the Dunlop brand?
Keep using it and updating it or using everything that comes with it to expand their Srixon brand?

Will they be playing with racquets branded as Dunlop or Srixon? It's too bad they couldn't get Slazenger in the deal. Got to get that brand away from Sports Direct.
 
I'm pretty sure Yonex gained the most pros in the offseason (Steve Johnson, Frances Tiafoe, Leander Paes, Yanina Wickmayer, Caroline Garcia). Add Annika Beck to the list, from Prince to Yonex
 
Is Groth still sponsored by Lotto? In Brisbane he was wearing Lotto Hat and wristbands but had all black shirt and shorts with no logo. And Asic shoes.

It seems like he isnt. On his Instagram there is a picture of him training with some Lotto gear but the logos appear to be blurred out.
