Official 2017 List of Pro Sponsorship Changes

nice list. I didn't know about Wickmayer. Do you think Yonex is setting itself up to do what Babolat did about a decade ago. Kind of come out of nowhere to get all the big names using their sticks which then meant every club had a majority of players with that brand?

Not sure. If they achieve market saturation it will be different from Babolat because they have been a fairly large company in racquet Sports for a long time.

Here is the Google Translated version of Yonex's news release regarding Caroline Garcia and Frances Tiafoe: https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://www.yonex.co.jp/tennis/news/2017/01/1701051630.html

The contract covers racquets, strings, and accessories. No apparel.

EDIT:
Here is the English version of the press release:

Excellent, thank you. Was wondering this. Garcia looks great in Nike Gear.

Mainly a golf brand.. But makes tennis rackets as well. Kinda like the Dunlop for Asia but Not because there rackets are different. I know that Kevin Anderson plays with one.

They are really nice frames. Where I live we have pretty ready access to Japanese equipment and the Srixon frames are nice. 90's attention to detail and build quality. The cosmetics probably aren't to everyone's taste but the racquets are very well made. Nice diversity in the specs, too. Tweener / hybrid and game improving frames are a part of the range but they haven't neglected player-specced racquets.

I'm pretty sure Yonex gained the most pros in the offseason (Steve Johnson, Frances Tiafoe, Leander Paes, Yanina Wickmayer, Caroline Garcia). Add Annika Beck to the list, from Prince to Yonex

Agree they certainly were very aggressive and signed a lot of high profile new agreements. Is Leander Paes is actually sponsored by them or has he just started liking those racquets?

GREAT spot on Annika Beck. Would love to see the new racquets work well for her.

In 2016 Australian open he started wearing the Yonex clothing. Then a little later he switched to their racquets. Considering he has a stencil I'd say he's sponsored.

Thanks for confirming this. I guess he has terrific visibility in India. Otherwise you would wonder why anyone would want to sponsor him at this very late stage of his career. The last few years I have seen him with everything from Babolat, Head, Yonex racquets and figured he was just sourcing them cheaply and was just buying what he liked. He even took a shine to one of the speed pro lines for a while. Goodness knows what racquet was underneath the speed pro cosmetic.

Is Groth still sponsored by Lotto? In Brisbane he was wearing Lotto Hat and wristbands but had all black shirt and shorts with no logo. And Asic shoes.
He is probably just using the loto stuff as left over gear from his sponsership

I am happy with Srixion getting bigger names for their sticks, hopefully they enter the North American markets

I'm pretty sure Martina Hingis had a lot to do with the Leander Paes Yonex deal. He was playing for a blacked out Yonex frame for most of last year until a head-to-toe deal was worked out by the US Open.

Also, with Annnika Beck also with Yonex now, I'm sad no one is playing with Prince anymore these days. Srixon even has more of a presence with the pros...

This list will be updated as changes eventuate (Dolgopolov currently without a racquet sponsor)

Frances Tiafoe: Changed from Wilson racquets to Yonex (great move for him imo)

Caroline Garcia: Changed from Babolat to Yonex. Unsure of whether she has retained her Nike apparel deal or whether she will also wear Yonex brand clothing. (bad move for her imo and will play far worse with her Yonex racquets rather than the Pure Aeros that suited her game).

Borna Coric changed from Yonex to Wilson (great move imo)

John Peers has changed to Wilson from Prince

Nishikori to NIKE shoes from Adidas!!!! Retaining Uniqlo apparel.

Fognini now changing to Hydrogen soft goods with Asics runners, leaving his Adidas agreement.

Steve Johnson to Yonex

Aga Radwanska has changed from Babolat to Srixon racquets

Wickmayer is now using yonex

Ramos Vinolas from Lacoste to Joma

Jan-Lennard Struff from Hydrogen to Diadora

Mona Barthel has changed apparel sponsors from Denise Cronwall clothing to Bidi Badu

Jurgen Melzer to Bidi Badu

Alizé Cornet is now wearing Nike footwear (change from Babolat)

Aljaz Bedene from Adidas clothing to Lotto.

Malek Jaziri from Hydrogen apparel and mizuno shoes to full mizuno apparel / shoes sponsorship

Vesely changed racquet sponsorships!! Now with Srixon from Wilson

Ernesto Escobedo from Athletic DNA to NIKE (awaiting confirmation on whether this occurred 2016 or 2017)

Marius Copil from UniQlo to Mizuno

Annika Beck from Prince to Yonex racquets

Thomas bellucci from Adidas to Wilson
you should standardize the _____ to_____ or: ______ from _______.

Agree about Prince. Particularly because they are such beautiful racquets. Lucas Pouille is a real positive, though.

Have you tried the Srixon racquets? Really, really nice frames. I'm not enamoured of the cosmetics but the racquets themselves are very high quality.

One of the Srixon frames. Not sure if Vesely will be using this model. The cosmetic reminds me of the Yonex VCore's from a few years back. Build quality and playability on other Srixons is superb. I haven't tried this model, though.

Alizè Lim from Lè Coq Sportif to Nike
Good choice considering how horrible her outfit from Roland Garros was.

Danka Kovinic from Tonic to Lotto clothing
Sorana Cristea from Adidas to New Balance clothing
Shuai Peng from Nike to Adidas clothing
Stephanie Vogele from Volkl to Yonex racquets
