Official Babolat Strike VS 2022 thread

I've made the full switch back to the PSVS for now. The Rad MP just isn't as versatile, and the GT98 is too spin oriented.

Maybe it's because my game has improved, but this time around it just feels like an extension of my arm. I've got so much control with this thing thanks to the ability to modulate spin. And the easy power?!
The versatility while maintaining the comfort/precision/power has me a little dumbfounded.

Specs I've settled on are 337g, 32.3cm, 332sw.
Stringing with round 1.25 poly at 50lbs.

Maybe this is all because I played what is probably my best set of tennis of my life yesterday with it. Will keep you all updated.

Radical MP not as versatile as the PSVS? In my opinion the RMP is the most consistent and versatile racket ever. What exactly does the PSVS give more in versatility?

I am a RMP player and I also tried and loved the PAVS except the higher static weight and the grip shape. It just gavw me more power and spin than the RMP, was slightly less manouverable (maybe had higher swing weight too) but my feeling was the super consistent stringbed of the RMP made it even more versatile, while the PSVS was not far behind and is still one of my most likely alternatives for the case that I should ever feel the need to switch to another racket for whatever reason.

Just curious what you think about versatility advantages of the PSVS over the RMP, not about whonis right or wrong. Its all personal of course, but what characteristics make it more versatile for you?

Just want to preface this by saying that I played with both of these customized to similar specs and not in stock form.

The RMP has an incredibly consistent stringbed, and it's a great racquet for guiding the ball wherever you want it to go in a linear way. Input = output.
For my game the PSVS just creates more action on the ball with extra spin while maintaining above average control. With the added spin I've found that my variety of shots and angles on both serves and groundstrokes has increased noticeably. I also found more power, feel, and maneuverability on tap with the PSVS compared to the RMP.

I've never tried the PAVS, but my suspicion would be that the PSVS would sit right in the middle of the road between the RMP and the PAVS in terms of playability.

Ah OK, this sounds reasonable. If you get them to the same specs, the PSVS should be slightly faster / manouverable as its beam is thinner overall, as well as the throat is. At stock specs it seems to be the other way round due ro the weight difference. Is can confirm the PSVS has more easy spin and overall spin as well as power. The control / power ratio is great, as is with the beam but the PSVS has similar control and precision with more spin and power.

For my game the RMP is a little better. I prefer the maneuverability of an even slightly underspecced RMP as I tend to go lighter nowadays while I dont have any stability issues at lower specs and swingweight. An underspecced low weight low swing weight headlight PSVS would be nice to try.

Alright, question for all of my PSVS loyals. Have any of you tried the 2nd gen boom pro? It's giving me PSVS vibes but with more plow. Thoughts on it?

Thoughts on it?
I actually played with it for a few months. Really good frame, super comfortable and flexy, maybe a little too much so for my liking.
I thought the PSVS had more power and created a bigger ball with more spin on it, and was also more maneuverable.

I tried the first generstion Boom Pro for a moment. Was quite easy to play but lacked feel. I think the PSVS feels way better, swings faster, has more control and precision. Boom Pro maybe has a little more "free" power. From my personal asthetics point of view, the Booms look awful while the PSVS looks absolutely classy.

Definitely agree on aesthetics and maneuverability of the PSVS being superior to the boom. I was just surprised on its free power with a similar static weight
