This guy knows how much tennis has missed him. You are about to see him every single week for the next two months :notworthy:

Monte-Carlo Masters
Djokovic Open
Madrid Open
Italian Open
French Open

If he goes into the late rounds of the first two tournaments, he will skip Madrid. He might even not try too hard to get into the weekend rounds of Monte Carlo to keep himself fresh for his family’s pet project the following week.

Tennis is in a good place every time Earth's defender takes to the court. It's great that he has fully recovered from his hamstring issue and is now ready for the key parts of the season, the run from MC to USO. A lot of big events closely packed in together.

Hopefully an epic clay season awaits.

Agree. No reason to play Madrid if he makes good runs in Monaco and the new 250. His number #1 place will be safe and he defends 1000 points in Rome. RG should be the main goal. He can always play in Lyon before RG in case he skips Madrid and loses earily in Rome. He won Belgrade the week before RG in 2021 and it turned out to be the right formula. Now if he has early defeats in Monaco and the 250, he should play Madrid. If he wins Madrid, he might skip Rome. If he doesn't have catastrophic results, playing all 5 would be too much. I prefer him to win RG and underachieve in the M1000 (rather than winning Madrid/Rome and then making another QF in Roland)

I think the fact Madrid and Rome are 96 player 12 day events now changes a lot of things. There is going to be plenty of rest in between matches, it's all about how efficient he can be.

Why wouldn't he?! Who the heck can stop him in Monaco now that Alcaraz and Nadal both pulled out?! LOL Why not go all in while we are at it? I don't get this pessimism on these forums honestly...he can easily win this year in MC provided he advances into quater-finals!...

Such a heavy schedule prior to a slam just doesn't make sense at 35. He's just entering them all to keep some tournaments in reserve in case he loses early somewhere and feels he needs more match practice. I doubt he's stupid enough to overplay at this stage of his career.

That is it really. He is just making sure he gets enough matches in before RG.

99% of their threads belong there. If Djokovic broke a leg or announced his retirement it would be thread-worthy, not 40 threads a day on trivialities.
Tell me about it. I noticed a thread recently of a Rafa YouTube video where the first response was a Djokovic fan posting a list of his records. Honestly, it’s like an infestation. Bore off with your Djokovic worship. Its ruining this forum.

The Rafa and Fed fans don't (and didn't) do this. The current info about Rafa training or giving out an award at his Academy are posted in the Rafa news thread where they belong. No Rafa fans make a new thread since it wouldn't interest most non-Rafa fans.

When it was revealed Fed had various knee operations, it was legit world-wide tennis news, but it was posted only in the Fed news thread.

The Djokovic crowd obviously don't care and endlessly post the most monumental drivel which only fanatics care about, forcing it down everyone else's throats. No shame, just endless boredom for everyone but cultists.

Nobody gives a damn.

If his followers reached 42 billion Musk should give a damn.

Such an "injured" player he is, right? Not like Nadal who only fakes injuries according to this forum.
The Oscar should not have been given to Brendan Fraser but to Joker for its sequel: The Miraculous Recovery Part II.
:giggle:

Fair enough. We do definitely have schedule of people pulling out of MC. Like we had 3 threads just yesterday about FAA/ Alcaraz/ Nadal pulling out of MC. It’s okay with most fans to just take this info and move on. Agreed that schedules are not a great thread, but ttw has had these threads since the entire history of it.

I hope Djokovic vs Alcaraz build up a rivalry during the Clay swing leading into Womble, they had an epic match last year in Madrid.

Stupid idea at his age. He’s going for a calendar slam. No need to play all these tournaments. 2 warmups before the French will suffice. You don’t need all that clay time. Nadal won’t be Nadal this year at RG

While this might be a little reckless he probably wants all the practice he needs and all the opportunities to potentially damage Nadal's confidence to pave the way for his RG quest. Overtaking Nadal, obtaining triple career slam and the potential of dethroning Nadal at his home slam while attaining the above two would be insane

They gush over his achievements, go into other threads to complain about other posters not gushing over his achievements, actively terrorize other players and fans in other threads yet can't take any criticism of their own player...oh man...

Standard stuff for any big 3 fanbase when their fave is doing well or is even active. But nothing tops off crap (mostly) Nadal fans produced over Djokovic being deported from Australia.

It's not stupid, he is only keeping all those tournaments in place if he loses early anywhere and find out he is lacking matches. He will surely pull out of something, if he finds he has played a lot and had a lot of success earlier in the season.

However friendly they act now, it wouldn't matter until Novak takes outright lead.
They just retreated in to their shells at the moment. As they had nothing to cling to as it’s been downhill since RG last year.

They were raging last year when it was all going Nadal’s way. Hopefully they stay in their shells for good this time and no more glory Rafa moments for them to boast about ;)

You need to be clear, one day you say Rafa is great for the sport and tennis needs him other days you say he needs to retire. Try to take one stand and don’t behave like a seesaw

One has to be really biased and blind to think it's specific to Djoker fanbase. All 3 fanbases are bad and do equally dumb things.

Has Djokovic added Madrid to his schedule after watching Alcaraz struggle physically in the match against Sinner?

I found out from the Serbian media a week or so ago that he certainly wouldn't play in Madrid. And it wasn't on his calendar either.

What changed his decision?

Agree. That was next level sickening garbage. I've been here for a very long time, had never seen anything like it.
Honestly, most of what I've seen is just people pointing out what they think Djokovic could've done wrong and some Djoko fans cannot take it and think any mention of Djokovic's possible faults is "sickening". Just a matter of perspectives I say.

This is where you and I simply differ in what we saw. If it was just suggesting what they feel he did wrong, I can get it, but the way it was done was disgusting IMO. The constant spamming of threads coming in by certain posters, in which they are letting out their full hate because he beat their favs was overwhelming, even the Djokovic news thread was turned into a no go zone. Never seen anything like it before or since.
