You need to be clear, one day you say Rafa is great for the sport and tennis needs him other days you say he needs to retire. Try to take one stand and don’t behave like a seesaw

The sport is better if he plays. As he’s one of the greatest ever. I obviously don’t want him to win though. I’d be lying if I did considering he’s in direct competition with Djokovic for best of era discussion.

I don’t wish retirement or bad things on him but I hope he doesn’t win another major.

This is where you and I simply differ in what we saw. If it was just suggesting what they feel he did wrong, I can get it, but the way it was done was disgusting IMO. The constant spamming of threads coming in by certain posters, in which they are letting out their full hate because he beat their favs was overwhelming, even the Djokovic news thread was turned into a no go zone. Never seen anything like it before or since.

I've seen your fanbase alleging Nadal wasn't being a good husband because of not seeing Xisca enough, speculating that Xisca had "complications" therefore Nadal had to leave London early, and of course all those steroid allegations over the years....whereas Djokovic DID either lie about his positive test or knowingly risked other's health. No matter whether it was in response to an nonsensical rule or not, he surely could've chosen better.

So even the "vilest" of claims from what you claim to be sickening at least have a base compared to what some of your fellow Djoko fans alleged. Anyway, not here to "whataboutise", but only wish you could be a little cognizant of what your fanbase is capable of before labeling others as "sickening".

I know what they said. Did you see how Djokovic was absolutely trashed during the 2016-2018 period by many of his well wishers? Attacks on his personal life, his marriage, and many other things and yet that was absolutely nothing compared to the way he was abused on here during AO 2022. As I say, I have seen enough here in the past and had built a very very thick skin, but the crap that came out during that time absolutely stunned me, and nothing is going to change my view on that.

Look it's fine, I'm not trying to convince you or anyone else of anything. I simply am speaking of what I saw, and you know I am an old timer here just like you, so we've seen all the stuff that has happened in the modern era play out on these boards as well as on the courts. I never used to use my ignore list, but boy did it go into overdrive at that point, many posters who I thought were actually decent showed me a truly dark side that left me speechless. Anyways, as I said, you are good poster, always respectful, I have no issues with your views, simply they are very different from mine on this particular subject.

There has always been toxicity on these boards, but as bad as it was for all the big three, I hate to use to the word tolerable, because we shouldn't have tolerant any of it, what happened at AO22 period was absolute worst I have seen.
