Hey, what's up! I'm back just for today because I thought it'd be funny to comeback as the username Zara suggested in the "I am Legend" thread. After that I'll (probably) be gone for good unless something huge happens at Wimbledon, the USO, or the ATP finals

But I will miss you if you’re gone. What if you are my soulmate? But if you’re a Nadal fan and a cat lover then perhaps not.

And what is this huge thing that needs to happen at Wimbledon or USO?

Probably not your soulmate, I believe that position is reserved for Lleytonstation. I am a casual Nadal fan, and I have generally positive feelings towards cats and dogs, though I don't think I would ever want to own one.

There is not a set thing that needs to happen at the majors that will make me comeback. Anything that is extremely interesting and drama-filled will pull me back in, at least for a week or two. It could be a Djokovic-Nadal final (no matter the winner), it could be an Alcaraz breakout run to the final, or it could be Djokovic or Nadal getting upset pre-final.

Same with the USO, except I'll probably be around starting week 1 to follow the possible CYGS, if Nadal wins Wimbledon

Lleyton is cheating on me with Spencer but that's okay. But in all seriousness, I find friendships to be far more rewarding than romantic relationships. I am still giggling at your comeback as FeverDream. I was obviously messing around but it's good that you took it on.

I think this year is filled with drama so who knows what else is lurking. I myself not sure how long I am going to stick around; plus @Sudacafan has challenged me to comeback under a different User Name so I have taken that bet on. Who knows what will follow after that.

Our next project is to get Stefan out of the funk that he is currently in.
 
Nadal fans really, really, really hate Novak. I've had two Nads emailing me today and basically telling me anyone but Novak at Wimbledon. I don't want to go into details but it wasn't pretty. I haven't said anything yet to those stupid emails.

Sending you an email to tell you that only Djokovoic can win Wimbledon denotes a level of hatred never seen.
I don’t even want to know the details. I’m shocked and appalled.

Well, they are both Nadal fans and they mocked Novak's name. They didn't say only Novak can win Wimbledon but that they are hoping for a Nadal win but if that doesn't happen then anyone but Djokvoic. One of them had no idea that I am Novak fan. I haven't replied the email yet and don't think I will.

Not sure if you're not reading my post well or just being your usual sarcastic self.
 
Nadal fans clearly assume that everyone's a fan of Nadal or Federer so they are very comfortable at saying stuff without giving it much thoughts. Hanging out with Nadal fans these days is like sleeping with your enemies. LMHO

Probably just hardcore fans. Personally, I don’t root against Novak unless he is playing against Nadal. I like Nadal because he was my childhood favourite, but the thing I want most is quality and drama. Djokodal matches bring both (barring HC matches between 2015-2019). So, I always want Djokovic and Nadal to meet each other in tournaments.

Objectively, Novak is the GOAT. Even without the slam record he is more accomplished and well-rounded than Nadal and Federer. I think Nadal has the highest tennis peak ever on a single surface, and I think Federer played the best stretch of tennis ever from 04-07. But, Djokovic has a mix of peak play and consistency that the other two haven’t put together. So, even as it is now at 22-20, I think Djokovic is the GOAT. I can admit that even if he isn’t my favourite

Not at all. Especially one of them was going on and on about it and I was basically ignoring it. I then ended up saying, you're too hateful towards Novak. It's just not cool. He then went quiet. A bit later the 2nd email came from the second Nadal fan and he gave me a brief assessment of Wimbledon and nothing's wrong with that, but then he added, alas, I am going to be just as hateful and say that, anyone but Novak. I haven't replied to this 2nd email. This is ridiculous.

Anyway, I dropped a few names who I think could potentially win Wimbledon. I had to because one of them was insisting on it. I wasn't very happy about it. That's why a couple of days ago, I posted somewhere on the GPPD thread that I never, ever want to know anyone from real life who's a fan of tennis because the chances are they are either Nadal or Federer fan and a Novak hater. So it makes things very unpleasant. I love having a good time and don't like getting into these kinds of hateful interactions.

It's a work email and I am friends with these guys. Go out for drinks after work etc. So obviously they are comfortable exchanging emails. Nothing's wrong with discussing tennis or sports in general but they need to be bloody mindful of my feelings. Clearly Nadal fans are under the delusion and think everyone's a Nadal fan. One of them was utterly shocked that I was a Novak fan and he said and I quote, 'what??? No wayyyyyyy! Come on, Zara!!'

So all in all, you are terribly offended that those two Nadal fans colleagues can’t believe/understand that you’re a Djokovic fan. And that hurts your feelings.
