I think they’re actually better. Tongue is for sure improved , everything else as I recallThought I had read some complaints about the reissues not being quite as comfortable…new material maybe a little stiff? That still a thing?

With the lacing system you can really crank the laces down and its still comfortable. I feel like you likely did not do thatTBH I tried on last honey deuce version and can’t imagine how people can play tennis in these shoes. My feet could move in the shoe in every possible direction so while playing I would spray my ankle in 5 minutes.
Compared to sth like Asics Court FF3 it seems like cheap toy for kids more than a tennis shoes.
For sure they are light and speedy but there is 0 support.
I tried to but didn’t help much. Still think the shoes is not stable but maybe it’s because I always used GR or FF2/3 or Turbos. With the lacing system you can really crank the laces down and its still comfortable. I feel like you likely did not do that
I’ve had the opposite experience. Vapor 9/9.5 give me the most locked down feeling of any shoe. I feel super connected to the ground and faster than other shoes. But all feet and playing styles are different so understand people will have different opinions.TBH I tried on last honey deuce version and can’t imagine how people can play tennis in these shoes. GR feel like boats when I tried to play in them. Heavy too. Just didn’t fit my feet.I tried to but didn’t help much. Still think the shoes is not stable but maybe it’s because I always used GR or FF2/3 or Turbos.
So much of shoe fit depends on your foot shape. I have wide feet and always found the Vapor 9.5 to be perfect and snug. I find the FF too tight.I’ve had the opposite experience. They had a spring color that was decent. Those are still floating around on NDComg cant believe this shoe is back, and they came out with a puke color and a full leather which looks uncomfortable as ***.
if you are gonna re-release this amazing shoe why not make it buyable?
i can buy them somewhere? whats NDC?They had a spring color that was decent. Those are still floating around on NDC

How are the leathers to play in? was thinking mesh would be better/breathable.I just got a pair of the new white leather Vapors, and I feel it’s the shoe they’ve been needing to make! I haven’t used them on the court yet, so cannot speak of the playability yet. Seems like the leather will give a bit more stability? Also, it kind of seems like a good mixture between the 9s and the 9.5s. I wish they would bring back a version of the 9s as well. This shoe reminds me a little bit as well like Nishikori’s custom 9.5s…
Hope Nike makes more of the leather 9.5s!
I’ve played in them a few times and I remember why I used to love this shoe so much! I actually thought the leather pair had a bit more support and was a bit more sturdy moving side to side. I vote for more of the leather version! How are the leathers to play in? was thinking mesh would be better/breathable.
Did the 9.5 ever come in wide 2E versions? The 9/9.5 were exceptionally well received, and people loved them. The X was fine, and when it was released, it was the closest thing to the 9/9.5.
But it was the 9/9.5 that well well received enough to have 4 year product cycle. I don't think many other apparel products, which tends to be extremely trendy and "needs to get with the time" have that long of a product cycle.
The lower durability of the 9.5 might explain why it performs better on wet hard courts cos soft rubber is grippierThat's a fair point. And it's a matter of priorities. People buy new sporting outfits to go with the seasonal trends, and maybe their playing style allows for more longevity in their shoes. But for me, I haven't bought a new sporting outfit in years. But if there's a consumable footwear that I like, especially if my all time favorite comes back. I'm going to be stocking up and I'll skip tennis clothes for another 5 years to make up for that.
not good for smell right? or not good for performance? I think before the 1990s, most grand slam champions wore leather and it was good enough to win grand slams. so using logical deductive reasoning, it can't be because of performance. you must mean not good for smell.don’t think they would be good on a hot summer day.
Were you able to wear 9.5's despite yoir wide foot issues or did you use the 2E versions?
I got my leather 9.5's just to see how they fit and my god they fit my wide foot so well!
nono when it comes to wearing shoes that were no longer in production, the list of players is huge. it surely is not only one individual. federer wore many shoes: why would this one be picked? Makes no sense.apart from that federer used them
Why doesn't the leather ones have perforations in the forefoot so it breathes better
The only positive of them as they are is that section of the shoe is water proof
On the plus side your toes wont get wet lolGenerally, perforations in leather create more points of failure where the material can split and separate. It was probably much simpler to forgo any perforations since this is a limited run.

Yeah it seems to be very popularnono when it comes to wearing shoes that were no longer in production, the list of players is huge. it surely is not only one individual. federer wore many shoes: why would this one be picked? Makes no sense.
so it is the pro players' opinion that this was a superior shoe even when compared to the current offerings. the fact that nike allows their players to wear a model which is out of production is saying quite a bit. they can not make money on that yet still give the players what they want instead of coercing them into wearing current offerings.
If I had to answer why I would have to guess it has something to do with the combination of weight and the low-riding chassis. I don't think the casual players really needs that much court feel.
I agree they are a tad overrated. just A TAD though! not a lot. these are still beastly. For most people, there are better options. This is too much of a match-day shoe that only a few can appreciate. takes a lot of effort to exploit the tiny advantages that the shoe allows you.
Yeah it seems to be very popular
Im not a convert yet the hot punch ones were narrower than the leather lol
Not sure why maybe the leather one i got was a QC issue made slightly wider
If they go on sale i may dip my toes and get them but for now these are going back cos i cant use them on wet courts, the sole wears quickly and i dont particularly like how they look
This is real leather though?the syn leather is a more flexible material than the tightly knitted mesh, it breaks in quicker, thus the feeling of increased width
My issue is the on the medial side of my foot where the upper meets the corner of the insole is where i get pinching on the side of my footthe syn leather is a more flexible material than the tightly knitted mesh, it breaks in quicker, thus the feeling of increased width
This is real leather though?
I thought the recent 9.5 is real leather not synthetic?synthetic leather, what i was referencing by "syn leather" ... its much more flexible than the multi-layered mesh in the standard V9.5
I thought the recent 9.5 is real leather not synthetic?
