16/15 clash?
18x16
Google Translate: An all-round model, that's more like a wooden racket, but that has the stability of medium beam width (?).

I’m a 40 year old strong 4.0, mediocre 4.5. I’ve been dealing with some relatively minor golfer’s elbow for the past few months. Yesterday I purchased a Clash Tour after demoing the following racquets:

Yonex Vcore 97 2019 green 16x9 - so precise, super thin beam, really fun stick. I almost went with this one.
Vcore 97 HD - too difficult to use for me.
Clash 98 - it didn’t offer the improvement in control over the tour that I thought it would. It feels and plays like a different racquet from the Tour though so I would recommend giving it a demo. I experienced a much lower launch angle than the Tour
Wilson Blade v7 18x20 - this one was totally meh for me. Pass.

I used to play with a Pure Drive 2015 until I smashed it with my trunk door (RIP). I’ve played with a friend‘s previous Gen Pure Aero Tour which is a beast of a racquet if you can harness it. Awesome stick.

My current racquet, before switching to the Clash Tour, was the Yonex Vcore 98. Also a fun stick to use but I’ve been developing a bit of the aforementioned golfer’s elbow so it was time to jump ship. I tried full poly at ranges from 35-50 lbs, low tension hybrid setup, nothing helped. Consistent use of the Therabar has worked wonders for my arm.

My arm feels way better after playing the Clash as compared to the Vcore 98. The Yonex feels like I’m playing with a board in comparison.

After demoing the Clash Tour it feels to me like a more comfortable and easy to swing Pure Aero Tour. It hits with so much topspin that I find myself saying whoa as the ball dips in and pops up to shoulder height on my opponents. Giving my opponents fits, that’s my idea of fun.

I need more reps but I’ve been serving bombs with the Tour. The vcore 97 I mentioned above couldn’t hold a candle in that regard.

At the suggestion of the pro shop where I bought the racquet (they string a lot of elite D1 player’s racquets), my Tour is currently strung with a fresh bed of Wilson Revolve Twist 17 at 46 pounds.

I hope to get some serious play in in the next few weeks and will report back.

What we need is a 20 mm 16x19 Clash 95 or 97 [emoji471]

The FLEX and feel of the Clash but in a more controllable package. THAT would be killer

A 310g thin beamed racquet like that would be pure junk.

Don't forget that Wilson already tried it with the Pro Staff 95. Great feeling racquet - one of Wilson's best in that regard - and superb drill pattern but pure garbage at competition level due to its floppy beam, instability, low swingweight etc.

Curious if anyone tried it with hybrid like Velocity in mains and a thinner poly in cross ? Or full Velocity ? Full thin (1.15mm) poly ?

So I pulled the gun and bought the RG Clash 100 just now...
Was looking to test it at some point because all my current rackets are at the 350-360 grams range and I want to try a slightly lighter setup.
Then I saw that paint-job and the decision was almost instantaneous!!
The thing is that where I bought it from did not have the best selection to choose from to string the racket(to say the least) so I ended up with Tecnifibre Razor Code (Blue).
I have never played with it but even on the off chance that I hate it, well, if nothing else it'll look good before I cut it :-D !

I've had an opportunity to play with Clash 98 made for Goran Ivanisevic. Pro stock,320g basic and 310 balance strung. RA will be known tomorrow, I hope. L4 grip.
Great stuff!

How does it play?
More stiff than regular 98, but still flexy enough. You can hit much heavier ball , more hefty, lots of power, somehow a little bit more control. There is no matte paint. I like it more than regular, but we're gonna see tomorrow, when we put those specs from pro stock on to regular one

Who said 310 grams? I was thinking 320-340 strung but with that incredible feel [emoji56]

No,he is going from Ultra to Clash and back again.
Head sent him some racquets and they also sent bills for it . He was really angry and went to Wilson, they were happy that he came.
Haha it is kind of funny to think of a company as big as Head sending bills for a few racquets to a former world no. 2 who is one of the main coaches to the current world no. 1. Do you think they gave him 75% store credit when he returned them? Nothing comes for free I guess.

He has been using the Ultra last year, but from what I see now on Instagram, it look like he uses Speed now...
I don't know about that, but yesterday I saw 5 Ultra Pro racquets and 5 Clash 98 racquets ready for him . We're gonna see it soon, when he shows up on tournaments held by Novak Djokovic in Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and I don't know where else.

I am coming from the Pure Strike over to the Clash because of elbow issues I am still not fully recovered from. I am trying to decide if I should go Clash 100 or Clash 100 Tour. In studying up on arm friendly racquets I learned that heavier racquets (when comparing two) are typically more comfortable racquets. However, when looking at the TW review scorecard they give the 100 model a 90 for comfort and the Tour model an 89. I understand that is almost the same score, but I was actually anticipating the Tour model being scored as more comfortable.

My elbow is still healing but have already pretty much mentally committed towards moving to the Clash. Just need to make the final decision...Clash 100 or Clash 100 Tour. Any suggestions for me?
If your elbow hurts check your form more then your racket

Should I get this racket or is there something similar but better on the market?
What's the opinion on lead on it, how much, where and does it play well?

At first I was unsure about the feeling of the Clash. Coming from a Burn CV, it felt kind of mushy. After trying PA and Vcore for a while, I went back to Clash and am now totally loving it. 3 grams in the handle, and 2 at 10 and 2 o'clock. Awesome. Not a lot of easy power. You have to swing big on every shot. But it doesn't tire you out or stress ligaments...nice.

A difficult question to answer. Clash 100 is an extremely comfortable and maneuverable racket that provides a good amount of power and spin. If those are the things you are looking for - then there's arguably no better racket on the market.

However, if comfort isn't such a priority for you, then there are plenty of rackets that might be a better choice. It's all down to personal preference and your style.

As for lead - Clash 100 is quite light, and I personally put 3g on 3/9 12 o'clock and 2g at 12 o'clock and felt a marginal improvement in stability and power. Honestly, in hindsight I should've bought the tour or the 98.

It's kind if unique and feel, flex and also weight distribution/balance for that weight.

After that it's up to you. I like it for spin mostly on my weaker shots. It's super stable at the net. It won't have the feel and control of a smaller head racquet but you will enjoy trying to hit angles and different kind of shots.

Obviously very subjective. For example someone said not a lot of easy power, whereas I found it to have too much power (100 Tour). On the plus side, comfortable and very easy to swing. Can play without much effort, and good at the net. Downside for me is lack of control when hitting full swing.

Bottom line: it's not replaced my primary racquets, but I keep one in the bag for occasional doubles play and for days when I'm feeling tired at the end of a singles hitting session.

Nothing like it out so far afaik.
I’ve been playing with it for 6 months now and it’s treated me well. No more pain after playing, can even use a stiffer string. Lots of spin, a lot of power, easy to swing.
Unique feel for sure. The racket vibrates instead of your arm.

I am playing with pro stock Blade and was playing with H22 before and Clash is really something new in tennis. I've never seen something like this from any other brand. In my opinion, it has too much power and that is something that can be solved by changing the string tension. Everything else on Clash is great and I do enjoy it.

Yeah coming from the Blade as well ,and it indeed has a lot of power. That said, it is controllable, I think it just takes a little getting used to. As you know, the Blade lets us get away with some really flat shots sometimes that the Clash is not really built for.

I HAVE BEEN REALLY ENJOYING MY CLASH OVER THE LAST MONTH. I BOUGHT BOTH THE TOUR AND THE 100.
SEEMS LIKE IM SETTLING ON THE STANDARD. AS THE SLIGHTLY LESS HL BALANCE IS MORE SUITED TO MY SWING. BUT I CAN PLAY WITH BOTH,.
SO ONE THING I KEEP SEEING ON THESE BOARDS IS PEOPLE TALK ABOUT THE POWER. HOW HIGH IT IS ETC ETC.
BUT BELIEVE ME THIS STICK HAS LESS POWER THAN THE PA OR PD.. THOSE STICKS ARE MORE POWERFUL THAN THE CLASH.
THE CLASH SUCKS UP A LITTLE POWER ON CONTACT WITH THE BALL WHICH IS WHT MAKES IT UNIQUE. AND GIVES THAT EXTRA DWELL TIME THAT WE ARE ALL LOVING..
THE STRING PATTERN THANK G-D IS ACTUALLY A TRUE STANDARD 16X19. IT WOULD HAVE TICKED ME OFF IF IT WERE WIDE SPACED LIKE THE NEW PD AND PA
THE SOUND ON CONTACT IS LOUD. SUCH A GREAT SOUND.
AND THIS FRAME WAS CONCEIVED FOR POLY USE. IF THERE IS ANY FRAME THAT BEGS FOR POLY FULL BED THIS IS IT.
I USE CYCLONE BLACK 16G AT 52 AND ITS EXCELLENT.. I WOULD PROB GO TO 50LBS NEXT TIME.. AS 52 DOES FEEL A HAIR STIFF. BUT AGAIN.. FEELS GREAT.
SO COMPARING THIS TO A PA. THERE IS NO COMPARISON. THE PA FEELS LIKE A STIFF PIECE OF PLASTIC IN CONPARISON..
AND I PLAYED BOTH BACK TO BACK LAST WEEK.. THE FIRST MAJOR DIFFERENCE IN PLAYABILITY IS WHEN REDIRECTING PACE ON GROUNDSTROKES.
YOU CAN REALL POINT AND SHOOT WHEN REDIRECTING AND THE BALL GOES EXACTLY WHERE YOU WANT IT TO GO. THE PA CANNOT DO THAT. THE PA WILL SPRAY. YOU NEED
TO ALWAYS USE TOP SPIN TO GET ANY KIND OF CONTROL WITH THE PA. NOT SO WITH THE CLASH. IT HAS ENOUGH DWELL TIME AND FEEDBACK THAT YOU REALLY CAN JUST POINT
AND SHOOT WHEN REDIRECTING PACE. IM LOVING THE CLASH.

Coming from an 18x20 Blade in thinking of trying out a Clash 100. Not sure which version to go for, the 100 or Tour model. Looking for something with a bit more east spin and power. Which would you guys recommend?
