Fall is here and winter is coming and an indoor membership is not an option this year. What do you guys suggest for tennis-like activities when you can't play for 6 months at a time?

Dodge ball is a great idea! I bet there are some social leagues available. Wally-ball/volleyball?

Where do you live? in the next 6 months, there should be several days that are playable..... unless you live up north

2 years ago in Maryland, we were playing on Christmas eve.

Massachusetts. My wife and I have hour-plus commutes so we are finding we don't have but half an hour on weekdays before the sun sets on our courts this time of year. Personally, I don't really mind the 6 month layoff, but my wife is just picking up the game and she hates feeling like she's starting all over again in the spring.

Fun fact, I once played through a snow flurry!

Maybe practice some shadow swings? Watch a lot of training court level video and discuss how you can apply that into your game? Etc.

Do you have a garage? A board propped up against the wall on an angle can help you with volleys. Ceilings high enough? Shadow swing a serve or perfect your toss.

Get a soft kids ball, practice catching ball on the racquet then hit back to wife, ball can't hit the ground. Lots of things you can do, especially cardio and hand/eye coordination wise.

Footwork...get some cones, you'll find lots of footwork drills without hitting a ball.

Few years ago we got a ping pong table, forced me to keep myself low, also a great cardio workout.

I feel your pain, but doing absolutely nothing is far worse than doing something for that muscle memory.

Platform tennis is popular in the Northeast. and some other areas. Most of the courts around Baltimore were in tennis clubs or golf clubs with tennis. The 'platform' part refers to an elevated court usually made of aluminum, where you could lift slats around the courts and sweep off the snow.

The courts have extreme grit, don't fall, don't wear jeans or something on your legs.

Wear gloves or put a sock with a hole in it on your hand.

Fun games and it works well with tennis seasonally in the colder states. Lighted courts.
