OG Micro Sheep

I used it as a cross when I was trying to save some dollars on my own restrings. Use it on customers frames who are after a good syn gut. If you are a syn gut user or want a syn cross I think it fills that description and for the price the stringer can make some $$ out of it too. Win win for all parties.

it's nothing special. just good bang for the buck with no glaring weaknesses for synthetic gut. nothing more, nothing less.
That's all I can really ask of a string. I just want it to respond consistently and let me feel and control the ball. I don't really care if it breaks every couple of sets (that's all I get out of it) as long as it feels and responds the same all the time.

I've never beaten someone because of my strings gave me super human powers.

I like a boardy predictable feel and OGSM delivers that but ive moved away from syn guts. I like it better as a cross than a full bed as well. Overall its decent though I prefer Gamma syn gut in a full bed if we are talking syn gut.

I don't understand the craze for this string... It's just as good as any other Synthetic gut - But posters on here rave about it as though it's as good as a multi and some going as far as comparing it to gut.

Have you guys lost your minds? What's with this inexplicable cult following? The string is a cheap synthetic, nothing more...

OGSM JC is a different from regular OGSM... 'JC' version had more pops when I compared back then, too bad it is no longer available. I still like OGSM, great cross for my poly hybrid.

I like the OGSM in a full bed as it offers more comfort than my regular setup(see signature). I have strung couple of my blades with full sets of gosen for this winter weather. One down side is that it moves a lot and needs adjustment now and then but I have gotten used to it and its really not a big deal considering my dense string pattern.

You mean "move up" to syn guts and multifilaments. Don't forget that polys are the lowest form of tennis strings. They are nothing but a solid piece of extruded plastic, which is extremely cheap to manufacture. String manufacturers love to make and sell them because they are easy to make and although they cost very little to make, they can charge high prices for them and make massive profit margins on them. It's the public that has been fooled into paying the high prices for poly strings. A decade ago, poly strings were just about the cheapest strings you can buy. By contrast, multifilaments are very difficult and expensive to manufacture.
And he makes a great point as well!

I am sticking with Prince OSG (gold) at the moment (full set). If my memory serves me right, the Gosen is livelier, softer, but the POSG is firmer, has better tension maintenance. Thing is, I never got over they stopped the "JC" version of the Gosen.

this topic is particularly good.

last night for a long time (there were few people at the club last night because of the covid).

we were able to play for a long time, almost 4 hours, we were 3 girls and 5 boys. (ratings between 4.5 and 6.0 US) ...

all friends, mostly converted to head / prince OS.

in the heap, there were: radical zebra and candy cane, radical tour bumblebee, some pro tour os from POG 110 and prince graphite pro, spectrum and comp 110).

almost everyone plays with s-gut / poly or multi / poly ..

we had fun changing the fraames a bit, just to see. the advantage is that we have known each other since 1988-92, and we play practically with the same setup, the same rounds. often L2 or L3, often hybrid 22-25 for s-gut and 18-22 for poly .. in kilos!

personally, I play with prince ligthning, or duraflex, babolat spiraltek and s-gut, and mantis comfort and power synthetic. in poly I mainly use yonex poly tour air, pro, kirschbaum evolution, weiss scorpion, signum pure plasma and hyperion.

in fact, after trying a lot of setup last night, at one point it is complicated to make a real difference between s-gut forteen, original prince, gosen micro babolat s-gut or pro's pro synthetic .. it's so little quantifiable than switching from one to another is almost not sensitive.

in the same way, the poly used by all, ranging from topspin cyberflash to poly tour strike or kirschbaum evo, max power or so many others, to go to pro's pro cyberpower, concept and intense heat.

that in the end, we were at least almost the majority to be unable to tell the difference between all these setups !.

information: we all cut (if the s-gut is not broken before) after 4 hours maximum. beyond that, it becomes a bit unplayable. because of the molesse of synthetic.

the conclusion is finally:

that for normal use (up to 6.0) there are so few differences between a hybrid gosen or mantis / poly yonex strike or cyber flash topspin but I think, and am sure that with an alu power or similar it would be the same thing, and .. a hybrid under 2 € like the pro's pro synthetic gut / pro's pro concept or cyber power that a friend uses.

the differences being so small, that it is up to each one to choose what he prefers, according to the color, the investment.

me, I like evolution kirschbaum because of the color, I also like babolat s-gut rose, because of the color too, I also like pro's pro eruption vert, and dyreex whisper .. but I could just as much play with a black set of pro's pro synthetic and yonex strike at more than 4 times the price, that would hardly change anything.

If you have no racket speed then yeah, I can fathom someone like you not differentiating between strings.

Yes that's exactly it..
but explain to me what you do .. you come on a subject or we talk about s-gut, something you probably don't know, since it's trash, and throw away, and you swear by aluminum. rejecting any argument anyone can give, and you're completely closed to s-gut. why stay here go elsewhere to open a topic for lovers like alu and basta! ..

Lol, it's my thread you leave. It's ALU, not aluminum.

You can adjust to most strings. Some feel better then others some last longer then others whoopie. I play with different strings, one being gosen sheep with polygon or the next grade gosen poly in hybrid. I think the tension is more important then the string in most cases my 2 cents
