Players in the past did much worse. It was disgusting…. Not the same person that was at the US Open.
True. I saw the video posted of Nastase. I had forgotten What a bad boy he was. Same for McEnroe…. I think one forgot how bad it can get with Fed and Rafa being such even keeled players.Players in the past did much worse.
Players in the past did much worse.
I never forgot John McEnroe’s tirade at the 1984 Stockholm Open against Swede Andre’s Jarryd.Players in the past did much worse.
Yeah but this was directed at the umpire and was literally yelling f u multiple times to his face.I never forgot John McEnroe’s tirade at the 1984 Stockholm Open against Swede Andre’s Jarryd.
He was suspended from playing ATP events for 21 days.
It was a revolting display from him and he clearly hadn’t learned his lesson, as a numbers of years later he’d be disqualified from the Australian Open for yet another abhorrent display of unsporting behaviour.
Just imagine is Serena had done this. We'd never hear the end of it. But somehow it's OK for the guys. Such a double standard. Disgusting behavior.Waiting for @Aussie Darcy 's thoughts on this first. She is our ultimate referee here. If she says SHAMEFUL BEHAVIOR, then he deserves a DECADE of suspension. No mercy for Frances!
"your banned!"

Happens sometimes in American Football and Basketball, though almost never to the degree of what Tiafoe did and usually you can't hear it on the broadcasts. They usually give a penalty or technical foul and keep it moving, maybe a fine if it's real bad.Yeah but this was directed at the umpire and was literally yelling f u multiple times to his face.
Never seen that in any sport.
"Time violation, loss of first serve" - a normal call usually but the umpire did this while the ball was tossed in the air and at 5-5 deciding tiebreak. Still, it doesn't justify Tiafoe's behavior. What was the questionable call again? Just curious
Nothing will happen. Just the opposite. Tiafoe will cause the poor chair umpire to lose his job.Classless from Tiafoe with a fake PR apology after. Hopefully he gets a fine to set a precedent but won't be surprised if nothing happens

Tiafoe-- "You will never umpire my matches again. You are now on the blacklist for my F-ing matches!!!"
The ATP is the only sport where umpires are penalized for doing their jobs properly. Stop coddling these bratty players.
Nah. ManzierWas Safuillin wearing a BRO?
Tiafoe will get a fine of many tens of thousands of dollars, so that's more than enough.
A fine is peanuts for him. It is meaningless.
Tiafoe is demanding that the umpire be blacklisted from his matches. For doing his job. And you know the ATP will bow down to his wishes.
That ridiculous practice needs to end. No other sport does that. You got anything to say about that?
You did not answer the question. Do you support players being able to viciously abuse umpires and then blacklist umpires from working their matches for simply doing their jobs.Tiafoe has bills to pay so big fines are far from meaningless.
Suspension & a heavy monetary fine.Pretty crazy stuff. Never seen anything quite like it.

Hefty fine, and I am not sure why he wasn't defaulted. Can a player be defaulted after the match has completed? Disgusting behavior, and it doesn't have anything to do with Tiafoe's race. We are in the 21st Century.
Once a match is over you can’t be retroactively defaulted but after a match the supervisor may withdraw a player from all events for a sIngle violation of the Code occurring during an event. The rules provide for a lot of discretion. It will be decided whether it’s a “Major Offense” or not and then go from there. Keep in mind we’ve had a player attack the umpires chair with their racket with no suspension so I’m not sure whether they will go for a suspension for verbal abuse. It would be interesting if he receives any length of suspension but Sinner gets zero from CAS for (unintentionally) doping.Hefty fine, and I am not sure why he wasn't defaulted. Didn’t she do it, like couple of times? She always managed to be the victim in the end.Just imagine is Serena had done this. We'd never hear the end of it. But somehow it's OK for the guys. Such a double standard. Disgusting behavior.
Racism never left, just like any other negative trait of human nature. I just want to believe it isn't mainstream anymore.Racism is back, baby! So don't be so naive.
Nastase! IMO, both Tiafoe and Zverev should be fined, and or, suspended for a month or two. I believe Zverev was proven wrong on the replay.Pretty crazy stuff. Never seen anything quite like it.

Only time he shows up to play tennis. It was disgusting…. Not the same person that was at the US Open.
Ya but he knows the rules. Made a poor choice to say what he did in an aggressive tone.Tiafoe has bills to pay so big fines are far from meaningless.
