Old Cheap Strings Ultimate Arm Friendly Setup?

A number of times I've had the experience of really liking a demo racket then not so much liking the newly bought version of the same racket.

And yesterday I hit with an old POG OS that my girlfriend found at the dump and it felt great.

I'm wondering if both these situations are due to old strings that are very arm-friendly (due to loosing all their tension), while offering a lot of control (no springiness left).

Does this makes any sense?

I guess that does make sense. And I too found it that I like the demo a lot more than the actual newly bought racket.

its probably because the strings are more stiff on newly strung racquets than the broken in strings of the demo.
