Hello TW, I haven't had the chance to try older Yonex racquets like the RDS 001 Mid and RDX 500 Mid so I was curious on how they compare to today's mids such as the phantom 93p? Thanks

The RDX 500 Mid is more comparable. It offers a softer and smoother feel like the Phantom 93P. The RDS 001 Mid is much firmer and crisper feeling. The RDX 500 Mid is more classic Prestige or Prince Phantom 93P feeling whereas the RDS 001 Mid would be better for someone looking to replace a ProStaff 6.0 85 or a Prince Diablo Tour Mid.

    Cheers,

nice, at which end of the spectrum would the tour 89 stand? and do you prefer it over the phantom 93p?

The Tour 89 played like a PS 6.0 85 but with more plow through and a bigger sweetspot -- and surprisingly no harder to maneuver. I found it more generous than the Six.One 90 but it has that same kind of classic feel to it.
    Cheers,
