Terrible shame, no ? :D:D:D:D
It is a terrible shame. If Nadal had participated in the Olympics, the semi-finals would have been Djokovic-Nadal and Federer-Murray, with possibly a Federer-Nadal final. So not only would we have got another Djokovic-Nadal epic (where Nadal would have had the opportunity to take the H2H to 20-14 in favour of himself, mirroring the Sampras-Agassi H2H), but Nadal may also have had the opportunity to take the grass H2H to 2-2 with Federer. But Nadal will have the opportunity next year (though Federer failed to reach the Wimbledon final in 2010 and 2011, denying Nadal that opportunity).

wow, it seems that when Nadal is injured, his admirers having nothing to do just have to inject him into any threads whatsoever...

So NSK, how is the right hand these days? Getting some rest I hope. Did you cover all the Rafa images on google?

Hope you realize nads hasn't been past a quarter in a grass event in a while, but you always have your super optimistic spin on everything where nadal is somehow gonna win the next seven majors even while injured.

I agree. Its so frustrating how Federer keeps ducking Nadal in key events. Its almost like he is is afraid. IMO Federer is very very lucky Nadal has not been able to advance far in events off clay or else their H2H would be much worse.

Remember that time some scrub named Lukas Rosol took out "Prime" Nadal in the 1st round of the Championships Wimbledon??
I do, what's your point? I thought it was a great match.

It was the 2nd round, by the way. He wasn't an unknown to me before either; I'd watched his matches at the Serbia Open in Belgrade. He upset 5th seeded Lukasz Kubot in the first round, then Hanescu, and lost to Andujar in the QF.

Honestly it doesn't frustrate me that much anymore. 2-0 in HC slams, 8-2 in the slam H2H, 18-10 overall, 5-0 at his best slam. Anything else is rubbing it in. Though 2-2 grass slam H2H would be nice.

With Murray having a home court advantage and the wind at his sails, and Federer coming down from an emotionally and perhaps physically draining contest, this is obviously Murray's best chance of besting Federer at an event bigger than the Masters 1000. Still, I think it will be close.
Murray in 4 NID. Federer will be too pooped to win. Roger will be OK with the silver I think so it won't be too heartbreaking for him.

I'm not schizophrenic, what was the point of quoting me and that other person?
Is NadalSlam"Prince" your little brother then NadalSlam"King" or mayhap your son?

i really don't get it.. how do you manage let's say 3 accounts replying simultaneously every few minutes?
you have to have some kind of a changed IP program to do it right?
it's not as simple as just registering with a different email is it?
i hope it's not...

It's the pro's section, what did you expect? You have idiotic know-it-all acting like they're the siblings of pros, arguing against idiots praising certain pros like gods.

Or perhaps I am not any of those people. Loving how you ignore the most obvious possibility and pick the least likely one. Yes, we're all "replying simultaneously" every few minutes, surely they can't all be different people? Hope you're not this paranoid in real life, maybe the 2-0 hard-court slam H2H did that to you. Rafa has that effect on his opponents.

When Federer wins the Gold, wait for legions of jounalists and self called experts to give that medal the value of 3 GS...

I bet the forum will be colapsed with tears of federites.

For all his imperfections bouncing back from major losses doesn't seem to be one of them. This final has shown that once again which is an invaluable trait of any great champion.
He also has a second bite of the cherry immediately afterwards :)

This shows he can bounce back from disappointment, this gives me hope that one day he can win a major or more.

Why is Nadal even mentionned in this thread. This isn't the "fishing in Mallorca" gold medal match...

Cosigned.
If someone is constantly getting your blood pressure up, and you are not required unlike at your job, say, to interact with him or her, and it is never a good thing for your blood pressure to be heightened over trivial matters, why would you not elect to ignore that someone when the option were yours?
It's really simple: Click "User CP;" in the Control Panel click "Buddy/Ignore Lists," and follow the clear instructions.

That will be amusing to witness since they've been arguing since 2008 that Nadal's gold medal was insignificant and that the Olympics don't matter in tennis. I'd like to be the one breaking the news to Rafa that his gold medal is actually worth more than a slam all of a sudden. I'm sure he'll be pleased :) Of course if Murray happened to win, it would be back to "olympics gold is worth nothing". So I guess Rafa will be cheering for Fed

Any tournament with Nadal injured in the equation is weak.
You failed to notice that this tournament is best of three till final and Rafa has reached even a semi final of a best of three tournament on grass only once. In 2008, when he won final.

Take a look at Halle and Queens all these years. He wouldn't have had time to play five sets and get into his rhythm.

Does the stupidity of your posts know no end?

I am pretty sure, that the majority of the Federer fans here have agreed, that OG is the third most important tournament in tennis (and barely over a M1000 event). You repeating, that Federer fans are expecting this or that, will not make them actually expect what you say.

Whether Federer wins it today or not doesn't matter in the big scheme of things.

OG, will remain behind WTF in importance for the forseeable future, and there are objective reasons for that.
