Olympics Bronze Medal Match Proved My Theory Is Right

As everyone knows, Djokovic and Carreno Busta played at the US Open in 2020 and Djokovic was disqualified after hitting a lineswoman. At this point, Carreno Busta was serving for the first set. My belief is that even if Djokovic had not been disqualified, Carreno Busta would have won the match anyway. That's why Djokovic lost his rag, things weren't going his way. If he had the match under control, he wouldn't have made an error in judgement like that. So then, I was pleased to see Carreno Busta win the bronze medal match at the Olympics the following year which gave vindication that the US Open wasn't merely a fluke, a freak event.

Djokovic loses the first set to many random lousier players in GSs all the time. Doesn't mean ****. He always raises his level and destroys them in the following sets.

Djokovic losing the first set does not necessarily mean he'd lose the match.
Even as a critic of his antics and especially his fanbase, I firmly believe that the disqualification was unjust, and that Karen lineswoman overreacted on a relatively soft, unintentional ball hit just to garner attention and sympathy. Her antics led to the massive layoffs for the community of linesmen & lineswomen.

Djokovic fought hard to try to win his 2nd Bronze and physically was playing on "reserves" (Martina once wrote back to me using that word) those were some grueling rallies played in extreme conditions. After the match he didn't have anything left to play for the mixed-doubles bronze which was actually sad. Fortunately, nobody collapsed.

The match schedule was changed since players were complaining about the extreme conditions. With humidity some of the matches felt like 100F. Paula Badosa was taken out of her match in a wheelchair. Meddy told the umpire, "I can finish the match, but I also can die." There were various athletes that suffered heatstroke and a Russian archer did collapse.

Of course, Djokovic cares about the bronze just watch his celebration after he won his bronze in 2008. Pablo was literally in tears after he won that bronze medal match.

Fact for you. Couple of months after that US Open, djokovic and careno busta met again at RG QF.
Busta won the first set. Guess what happened next
