Holy crap! Have just heard this morning that it looks like we might've actually got Boris Johnson as London Mayor... UHHHHH-OHHHHH!... Looky here:

Hey, we were only joking, right?!... I think I speak for many, including those who voted for him, when I say "we never really thought he'd go on and win!?"

I mean, I know Boris is quite witty and has a certain charm or appeal due to his bumbling, gaffe-prone persona. But is making a mess out of publishing The Spectator and being on satirical TV shows qualifications to run London?...

WTF have we done???!!!
 
I bloody hope so. He can't be as big of a tool as the incumbent who, prior to gaining office, was only qualified to be the union representative of a small florists.
 
Not a huge fan of Boris but anything has to be better than Ken really. Frankly he got elected on one manifesto but because he has to carry the two Greens to get a majority on the assembly every policy gets shifted towards red socialism (Ken) and environmentalism combined.

We should have elected Paddick, he's the only guy who actually did anything about crime in London. Huge success in Lambeth. Pity he has a complete absence of charisma and the personality of concrete

I hear he's going to be a Mayor for the rich, not sure how that's going to go down.

Not to hijack this thread too much, but isn't Lambeth the station nearest to the Imperial War Museum? It sounds familiar. Man, I was like a kid in Disneyland when I visited the Museum. What a collection! What presentation! What a building!

No other country seems to put so much time, expense and effort into preserving and exhibiting its history. I was duly impressed.
