On The Roger Clubhouse Pro

This is my frustration with ON and their tennis line of shoes: give me some color options for the uppers besides white and now, black! They make so many cool color combos for their running shoes - I own several pairs of Cloudmonsters along with my ONE pair of Roger Pros. I really hoped the Club Pro would have some more options but I guess I’ll wait and see. The shoe tech in the Club Pro seems promising for me but the colors options just don’t do it for me.

Sad to say that these are NOT going to work for me. There is little to no cushioning when removing the factory insoles and inserting my custom orthotics. The shoe feels bottomed out especially in the forefoot.

I will say that the front uppers have a lot of give so when people say they're wider, they weren't lying. The factory insoles were pretty narrow in the middle but my orthotics fit just fine.

Thanks for sharing. The pic of the stock insoles look fairly thick compared to like the insole in my Nikes. And honestly, when I first saw these, I thought they looked clunky but as people have posted pics, they are starting to look less like that.

really encouraged by your thoughts on the cushioning, I think that was a big omission from the initial roger pro

keep us posted how they age/break-in over the next few hits

I think the insole is no different than standard shoes but that rubber under is super soft.
After 2 sessions and 4 hours, I’d say:
- the fit (length) is great
- the width (fore foot, mid foot) is wide
- the heel area fits great and keeps the heel secured
- wearing thick socks and lacing really tight helps but still had some foot movement and I did not think lateral stability and security is on par with the top shoes
- the comfort is amazing, most comfortable shoes tennis shoes I tried. Too comfortable for tennis court. I’d wear them all day long at Disney but would not take them out to a match. They are great for practice and casual hitting. I did some runs, and stops today but would not attempt to do a slide on HC or even quick stop and turn around…
Will probably take them to China with me next week for 16 hour plane ride and playing over there…
- the lacing is great but would be great to have runners knot holes to make it more secure.
- the breathability is exceptional

I definitely did not like the Roger Pros - they were lifeless (no energy return), decent comfort but that plastic collar on the sides killed my feet. And at $200, they were most overrated shoes on the market. Of course, abysmal bottom sole durability added to it.

I am curious to see how durable these are

Curious about the general thoughts a few weeks on from this release. Interesting that @innoVAShaun notes the stock insole is so flimsy/thin that there is no add'l cushion outside of the midsole

Given the above from @dr325i wanted to see how the cushion is holding up given travel/various types of courts. At this price point, you'd certainly expect them to hold up decently from a cushion/outsole perspective

Relative to the roger pro this is definitely more of a "daily driver" option with pronounced cushion/breathability. Im considering a pair to wear casually

Once you remove the insoles, you're sitting right on top of the Speedboard. My hard, prescription orthotics felt like walking on rocks. I even tried my Powerstep Bridge insoles in them, and the RCPs still felt like they were bottomed out. Maybe the foam and outsole eventually break in, but I wasn't willing to take that chance at this price point.

I was hoping to use these as a casual shoe also, but I don't see myself walking in them comfortably for more than a half an hour.

I traveled to China and back, played 6 sessions over there. Heading to Europe (Munich, KB, Serbia) next two weeks and will play about 5 sessions... They are holding fine

interesting that the midsole doesnt provide much beyond forgiveness, something to consider

glad to hear it. where are they on the totem pole right now? amongst the top options?

Still prefer my other shoes (Mizuno Enforce Tour, GR9, Vapor 9.5) over these for the match/serious play.
But like these for 12-16 hour flights and more casual hitting. May try them on clay in Europe next two weeks.

Would you say they do fine just to wear around and to work? They are not much more expensive then the advantage which is a non tennis shoe for on.

Long time lurker, but my experience with these convinced me to post here.

I'm a 3.0~3.5 (stopped playing in 2020 and returned last year), needing new shoes and looking for options that could be used off-court as well. Decided go for these since I'm just doing coach sessions and eventually some games, even playing a full set is a rare event for me nowadays. So I figured that I didn't need all that stability/performance and these would be fine - but boy, I was wrong. The shoes have some stability (and might be fine if you just stay at the baseline) but if you need speed to reach for the net (or come back), you're on your on to keep lateral movement of your feet at bay.

The fit is fine (narrow at midfoot and roomier at the toes), it has a decent cushioning and you even feel the energy return of the speedboard, but the lack of stability might scare some. For me it'll be an easy day shoe and I'll keep looking for a more safe alternative for aggressive footwork.
