One/Two Piece Stringing

Today I received my new Alpha String Pal, and I'm very excited to start stringing. I, however, have absolutely no idea where to begin. I've read the manual, which tells me to determine if I need a one or two piece string job. My racquet needs two piece stringing. However, I've gotten it strung at a shop before and he used one piece. I kinda mapped out the string pattern in my head, and if I use one piece, I'll start stringing the crosses in the bottom, which I've read can break your frame. The stringing pattern is 18/19 and has eight holes in the throat of the racquet.

Basically, I just need to know if I can still do a one piece string job, and if I can, how do I go about doing so?

Sorry, I got you mixed up with someone in another forum. I think Head is really against stringing bottom/up.

Haha, that's ok. So I should go ahead and do two piece? How should I go about starting it if I've never done so before?

The pattern will tell you how much string you will need for the mains and for the crosses. It will tell you where to tie off the mains and where to tie and start the crosses. It will also tell you where to tie off the mains when you have finished them. It will tell what holes to skip when doing the mains, these are holes where crosses will need to go later. You start counting from the middle of the racquet, either top or bottom, and count outwards to locate these holes.

I do 2 piece nearly everytime. You can experiment with different strings, different tensions etc with 2 piece plus it's easier to manage. Knots are easy to do once you do a couple. Most shops seem to do 1 piece whether the manufacturer recommends it or not. The thing is, you're in control now so do it your way.

Ah, I think I figured it out. My brother has the same racquet I do, and thankfully, still had the factory two piece stringing. By looking at it, it really helped me imagine the pattern. Thanks.

Here you go, start mains in the head, skips 8t, 10t, 11t, 8h, 10h. tie offs 9t mains 6h, 7t for x's.... You can do one piece if you want, just do the around the world method, just search for this method (very simple)...
