One week on Rafa fans.....

Saw the extended highlights once and one of the video tributes, that's pretty much it. It brought joy for a day or so and I moved on from that.

The slippery blue clay in Madrid was dangerous for players.
(y) for Rafa, the King of Clay, to protest against the blue clay. i.e. to protect players from injuries.

As for whining, everyone knows that Fed has been the biggest whiner on the Tour. He has whined about the speed of the courts since at least 2008. NYT, January 13, 2008: Fed: "Everything is already slowing down..."
Fed & his devotees, stop whinig! LOL
Nice try! :) Rafa is a whiner. Complains about every little thing. LOL
The shot-makers like Federer and Berdych loved the blue clay. The grinders and whiners like Rafa and Novak realized they couldn't run around all over the court to retrieve balls and started crying and whining. LOL
Rafa even complains about the shot clock. And then holds his hand up to delay the serve of the opponent. Cheating crybaby. LOL

Rafa doesn't complain about the shot clock. Fed devotees are constantly cheating TTW readers by creating false stories about Rafa.

LOL, almost 10 days passed and the haters still can't calm down. Nadal beat decent playing Cilic, Schwartzman and Berrettini, then beat a GOATing Medvedev in the final. But no, of course he had a cakewalk. Funniest thing is that it comes from fans of a player who won his last USO beating Andy Murray. :-D:-D:-D:-D
Those guys played Nadal pretty tough I must admit. On paper though, it looks hardly impressive. Nadal earned his US Open trophy. No complaints from my side. Although sticking your hand up to disrupt your opponent's serve several times is a pretty desperate and underhanded tactic. I could imagine the Nadal fans going nuts if Federer had pulled that same tactic. :-D

Cilic 53 in the race before the tourny and forgot how to serve
Schwartz how could he possibly win lol
Berretta first slam semi after a 5setter
Medthedev first slam final playing his 22nd match in 5 weeks and losing sets to mugs throughout the tournament

Lol what's crazy is that it was literally 1-2 points from being a match I would never want to think about again, much less watch :D
Do you think it would have been over if Rafa would have fallen behind by a break in the 5th, even if it was right at the beginning?

I’m not so sure, but I’m not a Rafa fan, and I know how pessimistic a fan can become. ;)

That said, even though I want Federer to prevail in the Slam race, somehow I still prefer a Nadal win over having a Next Gen Slam champion. It’s sometimes difficult for whom to root then.

Keep crying. Your logic can be used to bring down every opponent. Roddick in Wimbledon 2009 was losing sets to mugs all the time. (if I remember correctly only in the fourth round he won in straights). But I doubt you think he was an easy opponent.

It just feels good after all the injuries and the 2015 and 2016 seasons, and after all the crap we have had to hear about Nadal being a one trick pony, or being Finnish. He's performing better than anyone would have expected at this stage of his career and breaking all the records. Winning slams in his teens, 20s, and 30s. One step away from the slam AND masters record.

Yeah, it's good to be a Nadal fan right now.
Well 4 USOs shuts down any clay specialists comments...tbh they were daft remarks of ignorance anyway but last Sunday was the ultimate silencer

He looked so gassed to me, but mainly he was NERVOUS. He would have had too much pressure to execute, and from down a break to a guy that would have kept playing without fear, I don't think he would have done it. Heck, had he not served out that second time he tried it, I don't think he'd have won from there even.

USO plays slower than clay. The homogenization of surfaces has allowed many clay courters to make deep runs across hardcourts. Even Thiem made the QF of USO last year and won Indian Wells this year which played slower than Monte Carlo. LOL

I like Rafa and would love to see him overtake Federer's slam title haul but these easy, mickey mouse draws are a huge drawback for me when it comes to celebrating his legacy. His last two US Open titles couldn't have been more easy. He should pay Federer and Djokovic for beating up themselves in that Wimbledon final because that's what took them out physically for the US OPen.
Lol

I have watched it a trillion times. Sometimes I skip the 3rd and 4th sets but the Final set is my favourite. I watch the final set several times a day!
I was watching USO2013 the other day on youtube when Nadal was playing incredible tennis. How many more USOs do you think he can win?

Rafa is the king of clay...but definitely not the king of blue clay :p
Serena Williams called both Rafa and Novak "weenies" after they threw a hissy fit over the blue clay in Madrid.
Serena and Federer respectively went on to win the titles on blue clay without much fuss.
Federer again proves that when you're a sublime tennis player who can win with technical excellence instead of relying on the conditions of the courts and grinding your way to a win, you're a true marvel in your sport. Same with Serena.
Rafa on the other hand was mopey and upset that he couldn't read the ball or bounce on blue clay as he got dumped out in the early rounds. So much for a champion! LOL
Play the game and stop whining Rafa! LOL

Yet Federer hasn't been able to buy a USO title for 11 years!

Just like Fed invented back pain when Dimi was taking him to the cleaners at the USO. To lose to Baby Fed is very embarrassing.
Almost as embarrassing as the legendary Rafa losing at AO2017 and Wimbledon2019 against the weak era king. LOL
You're too funny clayqueen. ;)

Well, if that were true ...

And what exactly stopped Nadal from reaching the final and showing Fed his place?

Oh I forgot, Muller
I'd rather lose to a redlining Muller in extra games in the 5th than John freaking Millman in 4 pathetic sets. Oh wait, was Fed injured for that one, too? Forget baby Fed Dimitrov (who played like the real Fed at USO this year,) someone needs to get Roger a pacifier!

Wait 5 years first and see what Nadal does at the age of 37-38
