One week on Rafa fans.....

What are your top 3 most heartbreaking losses?

Mine are:

1 - Wimbledon 2018 ( Mostly because I really felt like Rafa was the better player )
2 - AO17 ( Up a break and felt like he was going to take it )
3 - AO12 ( As above but wasn't as confident knowing it was Novak )
- AO 2014. For him to get injured at that moment and be unable to compete, in a slam final, was terrible.
- Wimbledon 2007. The match that ended up completely making me a fan. Heartbreaking loss.
- AO 2012. So SO close. To come that close to a come back, with the losing streak he had against Novak, on Novak's ground, in such a long match... that missed BH. Sigh.
Honorable mention to Wimbledon 2018 semi. So close, and you knew the title was his if he won this.
Those guys played Nadal pretty tough I must admit. On paper though, it looks hardly impressive. Nadal earned his US Open trophy. No complaints from my side. Although sticking your hand up to disrupt your opponent's serve several times is a pretty desperate and underhanded tactic. I could imagine the Nadal fans going nuts if Federer had pulled that same tactic. :-D
Not sure if you're just trolling. Waiting for the public to stop making noise is perfectly fair and common.
I rewatched full match on weekends and can say it’s totally unfair to claim that Nadal was playing bad, like WhineFan3 or some haters do. The first set was shaky from both, but after that the quality of play was very high, especially some moments from Medvedev in the end of 3rd set when he got desperate and just fired every shot with all the power he had, and also from Nadal starting with 0-1 15-40 in fifth. The only disappointing moment for me was up a championship point on Medvedev’s serve when he could end it all with a classic forehand dtl on the run, it was chance to win in style.

What’s surprising for me: Medvedev’s serve is not that big of a weapon against Nadal. And he must sustain a very high net success to make the match up close.
I've found the match to be higher quality when rewatching too. Guess I was too nervous lol. I just knew, when Rafa let go of some important chances in the third and especially in the fourth, that he was letting Med back into the match and that he wasn't going to waste that chance. Just look at the season he was having!. But yeah, both players played better than I felt at the moment.

King of the USO in the weak era, calling him also an average player etc.Don't pretend that you are innocent.
All of it is true. Federer hasn't won the USO for 11 years after winning 5 in a row, every objective person would see the connection with a weak era. As for being an average player, the facts are there and that's being kind. He hasn't won 50% of any of the titles he's contested in his career. Just go to Wiki and check out his career statistics.

So, the considered 2004-2006 weak era can be extended into 2008 for the USO only because Fed won it, but 2008 in fact was a strong year because Nadal won Wimbledon no ? That's convenient. When my favorite player wins it's a strong era; when his rival wins, it must be a weak one.

That doesn't mean he is average, so you are acting like a typical detractor.

We are getting nowhere.

Anything you say that bears any resemblance to the facts is a coincidence.

Nadal was getting slaughtered even before the injury. Nadal wasn't prepared for that version of Stan.
Let's not twist the facts.

Before the injury Nadal got Stan to 0-40 to break back in the 1st set. He went on to miss consecutive 2nd serve returns. That had nothing to do with "the version of Stan" and more to do with Nadal wasting his chances, but regardless, that doesn't constitute getting slaughtered.

The difference between me and you is that I don't talk trash about any of the BIG3.Yeah, but keep on complaining about others behaviour when you behave just like them.

Ah, and Fed fans are the worst ? I think you forgot about who started to talk about the weak era and diminishing Fed's achievements and all that stuff more than 10 years ago and keep doing it
I've asked you to provide evidence that I talk trash about any player particularly the Big3 and you haven't been able to do so. In that case you owe me an apology. You can't just make things up and get away with it. That was a vicious personal attack on me.

Just withdraw that accusation.

You are exaggerating, seriously.Stop with this drama.Calling Federer an average player is talking trash about him.

Even though it's true.

You may call it drama, but it doesn't feel like that to me. Fedfans call Rafa far worse untruths and you see nothing wrong with that. Enough of your double standards. I would suggest that you put me on ignore. Please!

I chose you intentionally and I explained why and I am not gonna repeat it again.Let's end this soap opera cause it's becoming boring and not only for us, but for all the users who read it and go back to tennis because that's what this thread is all about. That's all folks like Porky Pig says on Looney Tunes :D

You don't play at any level. :-D
Sounds like you a bit jealous of those of us who play the game so know how to analyse.

Let’s test you a little bit. Which ball should bounce higher ..Slazenger....Us Open balls or Babolat. Describe how each ball assists or affect your game.

I use no-name brand balls from Walmart on concrete courts.
Sounds like you're jealous that Federer won 20 Slams while you couldn't make it past club level.

Then I’d be jealous of Nadal given he is GOAT and the guy all women love...so your point is moot
GOAT talk is subjective. Any of the big 3 can lay claim to being the GOAT very easily. It can be decided by Slam count, weeks at #1 or H2H records. Federer still has the Slam count and weeks at #1 record and Djokovic has the H2H record against both. So the discussion is ongoing...up until the end of their careers. ;)

Nope. Nadal was in supreme form as based on his SF match with Federer 2 days earlier. Nadal was getting crushed by Stanimal. Even Djokovic had no answers for Stan. No shame in losing. Accept the fact that Nadal was inferior that day and stop making excuses.
Reading comprehension please. I didn't say it happened before or during a previous match. It happened right before the final. Wawrinka was insanely lucky. And the fact he had such a tough time winning despite Rafa's condition shows he'd have NEVER won otherwise.

Anyway I'm done with this.

No its whining and smacks of saltiness. If players were not in the draw it may have a bit more traction but given all the top 5 were in the draw its a ridiculous and weak point.
Lol TP knows how momumental this USO was, he's only trying to distract TeamRafa from our celebrations. I, for one am past paying trolls attention, too much confetti raining down over here :p

Monumental is an understatement. That US Open win for Nadal changes everything in his favour. But u know looking back perhaps Rome final was where it all turned. Rafa has won 4 out 5 events he has played.

What are all these 40-15-depressed fans doing on a thread for Rafa fans?

Don´t they realize they can never rain on this parade?

The USO19 parade, the parade RF fans have been fearing for over a decade.

There will be more such parades, better get used to it instead of trolling.
Lol Amen!

No one would have expected Nadal would actually win the US Open again. The shock of it all is still fresh.

Every year the haters say "well at least he has RG bc he will never win another slam off clay" lol, keep it going :D
You can always tell a clueless fan when they treat FO as some kind of a joke, or as if it is NORMAL for a player to be so good at a slam that nobody even questions him winning there. Well, nobody questions it because he is so dominant, duh. The fact he is dominant reveals the inability of the rest to challenge him there for over a decade, and that includes RF.

Taking his domination of the French Open for granted, as if it´s no big deal because one man has been winning it so often, separates the men from the boys, in terms of who understands the game and who hasn´t got a clue.

The boys are the fanboys who dislike Rafa and don´t understand tennis at all, usually. Winning the FO 12 times is possibly THE most unassailable record in tennis. Trying desperately to make FO less valid as a slam is the most pathetic desperate measure any fan camp has ever tried to get away with.

Especially ironic, since FO is possibly the toughest slam to win.

Nice try! :) Rafa is a whiner. Complains about every little thing. LOL
The shot-makers like Federer and Berdych loved the blue clay. The grinders and whiners like Rafa and Novak realized they couldn't run around all over the court to retrieve balls and started crying and whining. LOL
Rafa even complains about the shot clock. And then holds his hand up to delay the serve of the opponent. Cheating crybaby. LOL
Yeah Rafa is really known on tour for being a whiner. LOL The primadonna of ATP aint Rafa and that we all know who is.
The real whiners are 40-15 victims like yourself, everyday finding things to complain about. LOL

Funny you use this quote considering Rafa choked his butt off against Novak on that exact same court 1 year earlier  Willing to bet you cried to sleep that night after all of Rafa's missed chances.

Rafa won 19 slams and he has the highest winning % ever, the opposite of a choker. You are so far off with everything.
