Only 9 of the Top 20 seeds remain..

Only 9 players who are seeded in the top-20 remain.. and we have only reached start of Round 32... This is when the top 32 seeds start playing each other. Till now none of the seeded players had played another seed and yet majority of the top players have gone home.. How far have levels fallen on grass..

1. Djokovic
2. Nadal

3. Ruud
4. Tsitsipas
5. Alcaraz

6. Felix
7. Hurkacz
8.Berrettini

9. Norrie
10. Sinner
11. Fritz

12. Schwartzman
13. Shapovalov
14. Cilic
15. Opelka
16. P Busta
17. Bautista Agut
18. Dimitrov

19. Minaur
20. John Isner

And this is despite no Medvedev, Zverev and Rublev.

Definitely one or two unseeded or low seeded players will go deep this time.

it happens

This is a classic edition of Wimbers, despite what the naysayers may attempt to portray...

Seeds being scattered at the wayside has been the norm for the last 50+ years...

Just remove Djokovic with Nadal and we have an ATP125 tournament.

Need a longer grass season… somehow.

Is it really this bad or do we complain as usual?
This is bad. With all the injuries, pull-outs, choking, and banned players, this is one of the weakest majors in decades. It's making last years Berrettini Open look somewhat strong by comparison. I wouldn't be shocked if both Djoker and Nadal play unseeded opponents in the SF.

Last year :
12 Top-20 seeds remained by round 3.
11 Top-20 seeds remained by round 4.

And last year we didn't have russians banned.

So this year is at a historically low level.

Yes the 3 covid pull outs + russian ban has significantly weakened the field even further to go with the usual choking at Wimbledon.

normal on grass. people who serve above average can beat well rounded players on grass. then you factor in how few grass tournaments there are and figure serve is the only part of your game not effected by playing on grass and it rewards a good server and players who aren't in great physical shape it really levels the playing field.

for me grass isn't goat. Kevin Anderson and John Isner semifinal is proof of that for me. lol.

Make that 8 of 20. Isner out.
It will get much worse as we arrive to the final, where we'll only have two seeded players.
