Open Era - 18 Men's Rivalries with 24 or more matches, younger player has winning record in 13 of the rivalries...other 5 where they don't

This is why I never understood why Fed fans moan about bigger racquet, yes he may have lost his bigger forehand, but he gained lot in his legacy.
After changing racquet he turned his h2h against Murray and Rafa upside down.
Just think with old racquet he may have ended with loosing record not even against Rafa( with more losses) and Novak but also against Murray.
So a overall outlook may have been really bad for Roger than current situation as a ATg having loosing record against his three bigger opponent .
And to op Fed change his h2h against Murray when he was old not young.

Don't forget Lendl against Wilander, Edberg and Becker. Laver has a few as well I think, probably against most younger rivals of his era except Borg. But there probably wasn't 24 matches between them.

Lendl-Wilander and Lendl-Becker didn't go 24 matches, I believe. And Edberg leads the H2H with him. Not sure about Laver.

Nadal vs Djokovic will be added to this list by end of next year.

Laver was dominant over all his rivals young and old, and had winning records over most of them except Borg. He may have a few losing head to heads where there were just a couple of matches though.

Again, part of the reason why he deserves mention in the GOAT race. He was just so dominant over the field.

So basically the only 5 winning rivalries by the older player are the ones where the talent levels between the players are not even comparable. Says a lot.

Yes it does, and this yet another attempt to fish for "Federer is the best at..." posts in the wake of his defeat at the hands of Djokovic at Wimbledon.
