Open Tournament Question

So, I've been looking to get some good competitive play in, and was curious about different tournaments.

I'm familiar with the NTRP ratings (incredibly dumb IMHO), and their respective tournaments along with open tournaments...

Where would a tournament like this fit in:

Simply the upper echelons of open tournaments? I just had a great run in a grass doubles tournament, and if this isn't some sort of "unless you are a pro, don't enter it" type tournament, I would really like to see how my game matches up to these levels of players, particularly on the surface that suites my game the best.

Apart from this, what other tournaments are there at the open or somewhat higher levels?

These are not pros but probably 6.0s and 5.5s. You are not going to be able to just sign up. You have to submit an application with your ranking and credentials. Needless to say if you don't have a high open ranking or some other high level credential, they may not accept you.
