The sound of that food is convincing me otherwise rather swiftly...
Let's face it... one of the reasons I play tennis is so that I can burn calories so that I can drink beer after tennis without feeling guilty
That is always the real reason, except for me it is just food and not drink.
Exactly why I have a single racquet cover. I'm a 2.5-3.0 with only 1 racquet! I don't want to be known as "that guy" who has a pair of $230 racquets, brand new 12 racquet bag, etc. and then goes out 6-0.
This is sort of like combining all the benefits of bowling with tennis.
You should see some of the guys on the golf courses. All the best equipment, clothing, etc... They got everything except game...
Luckily, we have a bar inside the tennis club. And for those on a gluten-free diet, deep-fried cheese curds, http://t1dandglutenfree.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/low_carb_deep_fried_cheese_curds_plated.png
You should try drinking while you play. It's pretty fun. Nothing like a bunch of 3.5 to 4.0-able drunk idiots playing like 3.0's because we cant read the spin on the ball because our eyes are looking in two different directions.
Would not recommend drinking in league matches.
Save it for Sunday free play, and later afternoon/night games. You dont want to be drinking beer at noon during a league match in the blazing sun.
Saw the result of drinking and playing in doubles. Sober forehands tattooing the drunks. Seriously, save the burgers and brats till the match is over. Pretty heavy to play on.
I like how this thread manages to stay page 1 near the top...
Done that more times than I care to mention. My 4.5 team is a merry bunch and we often bring beer to practices. Oddly enough a beer or two sometimes makes me play better - if I'm tight, it loosens me up. More than 2 beers though is not a good idea...
That reminds me of kegger softball.
Keg of beer at second base. Before you could run to third, you had to drink a cup of beer from the keg.
Cut down on a lot of home runs and triples.
I kinda understand how the guy feels.
Our local tournament they seem to ALWAYS schedule my match during the food service times...and by the time we finish no food left.
and well...that part of it for me is the free food/beer and socializing.
what I have started to do is Bring a tupperware container and I have my wife go thru the food line and fix me a plate and then when my match is over and we head home I can zap it in the microwave and eat then.
Serena once left and ate 3 all you can eat buffets
This thread is back on top, page 1... lol
