They could easily have played this match on Monday. For some reason, they decided to change everyone's schedule in the bottom half to Tuesday. Works great for Kyrgios who had a tough tournament.
they also unfairly tried to preserve the grass by scheduling fewer matches on center court...They could easily have played this match on Monday. For some reason, they decided to change everyone's schedule in the bottom half to Tuesday. Works great for Kyrgios who had a tough tournament.
They gave Nadal the day off so he could practise on buttpicking quicker, given Federer's complaints.
LOL.
We should collect the excuses for Nadal loss (just like Nadal fanboys did for Djoker for FO loss)
Lol good one

If he does it faster, won't he get blisters???

Lol Boredo. The scheduling was a joke. How can you deny that?Which court would they have played these matches on? They only have so many show courts.
Kid, it's grass courts - the points don't last that long. And someone's turning 33 in about 5 weeks - isn't Nadal.
Cry me a river...
It would be even more fair to have the top half to play on Tuesday as well. Sorry not buying that bottom half should suffer for a few misfortunate. If Federer and Nadal had played their R16 matches on Monday, their quarterfinal opponents would have had to play two days in a row while they got a day of rest. That's more unfair to me than everyone on the bottom half playing two days in a row, though neither is ideal. They should just get rid of their middle Sunday tradition and give themselves some more breathing room.

That belongs to Hewitt or Rafter for now. They stacked the draw with heavyweights and weren’t even sure themselves if the great talented grasscourt Gasquet would be at Nadal’s throat or the servebot fast-court specialist Kyrgios, the greatest Australian player in decades, if not all time.

Where did they take Nadal out ?
Please, Hewitt was on top of his game throughout the 2003 -- 2007, when every slam (total of 20!) was up for grabs, with Roddick-Federer-b/Nadal the only competition. And yet, he ended up with two (2!) over his entire career!!
Maybe the organizers want all the top players out early so that only WC's and LL's can reach the semis.I agree with OP.
Organizers took Nadal out by not having Wimbledon on Clay and having it on Grass Court.
If you ever met Nadal and said this he'd look at you like you had something unseemly growing out of your forehead.
Yeah those mugs Fed/Rafa/Roddick.
Even TW members here could defeat them on a good day.
Also Safin, Ferrero, old Agassi, Nalbandian, Davy, Kuerten was still kicking a bit.

This is not the 1st time that scheduling sucks at W. It happens all the time. And unless they move the event to Hawaii or something, it will continue to happen with all the rain and their insistance on no play on Sunday. Apparently, the main reason for that is court maintenance. I don't know how we can convince them to give that up.
I don't know if Kyrgios is the greatest of all time Australians, but he's up there. Top 3 for sure.

You must be joking! For winning one match against the world #1? Let's talk about this again when he's actually won some Slams and other big titles. Laver, Hewitt, Rafter and various others would all now be turning in their graves if they weren't still alive!
Kyrgios is absolutely and unconditionally the greatest Aussie of all time.I don't know if Kyrgios is the greatest of all time Australians, but he's up there. Top 3 for sure.
Grass is a surface that needs more care and maintenance than clay and hardcourts so I doubt the organisers will ever give up Middle Sunday. But I agree there should be a sensible compromise whenever there are backlogs due to rain delays as has happened this year.
They took him out to the cleaners
Nadal was still a slender fragile adolescent boy, barely familiar with harcourts and completely unfamiliar with grass, a vulnerable kid full of naivette and big dreams who could not possibly take full advantage of the weak era card he was dealt.
3 years in a row! That's what they call a "hat-trick" in my part of the world.
And now it has become part of Wimbledon tradition, so i fear we may have to see Nadal getting taken out early every year, along with rain, middle Sundays off, white clothing, bowing to the royal box, strawberries and cream, etc etc.
Rafa's grass game decline took him out. The common denominator of his last 3 losses is that they happened vs run of the mill players who should not have been threats to the big shots and who sure as hell would not have been threats to Nadal on any other surface.
There is a moment when one has to let go of the excuses and focus on what's wrong with one's game. Acknowledging that there is something wrong with his current grass game is the first step in the right direction. What can he do about it? What can he change?
Otherwise, he will lose the same way next year against another obscure player and people are gonna continue blaming everything under the sun: organizers, schedule, draw, rain, court, astrology, quality of grass blades, evil gnomes... much good will it do him.
When a player starts losing to random people in first week of a slam for consecutive years, they just have to sit and look at what they can do about their game. Healthiest reaction.
