R1: Linette
R2: Gavrilova
R3: Azarenka/Hsieh
R4: Sevastova
QF: Svitolina (Mertens/Cibulkova)
SF: Halep or Pliskova
F: Kerber (Wozniacki/Kvitova/Sabalenka)

I hope I did that right. Looks OK until semi-finals but @TMF you're right I don't see her winning this one unless she really focuses and behaves well. @EkVraNaamEnVan I don't see what you're saying with opponents she hates playing, they look alright. If you look at her Indian Wells run, she beat a ton of quality opponents.
Serena could possibly meet Osaka in the semifinal. What a treat it will be if that will happen and Carlos Ramos is the umpire on that day.:giggle:

Nah it wouldn't and I excluded her cause I see the others with better potential.

R1: Linette - beat her already in Washington last year, she was frustrated by her play and lost interest
R2: Gavrilova - has beaten Osaka twice before, retrieval abilities keeping the ball in play which can be frustrating especially when you feel you have hit a winner
R3: Azarenka/Hsieh Hsieh is the ultimate magician, she knows how to frustrate players with her junk balls. I would rather have Vika, because I don't think she will have an issue with her because Vika is still struggling a bit
R4: Sevastova - H2H is 2-2, recent one in Brisbane, however if Naomi is not consistently concentrating, it can go downhill with those dropshots, she even admitted herself in the press conference that she has issues with those type of players
QF: Svitolina (Mertens/Cibulkova) - Maybe she can pass Elina, it depends on the fitness because she can also retrieve balls
SF: Halep or Pliskova Halep and Karo probably won't reach here should be Serena, if Karo does, good for her
F: Kerber (Wozniacki/Kvitova/Sabalenka) We all know how she plays against Kerber.

As for IW/USO those surfaces are slower, but not as slow as Singapore, it gives her more time to set up shots, and can also hit through them. AO is a bit faster, she is now more fitter, I hope that she can go far. The most important aspect I think is just her mentality to deal with some of these type of players.

@EkVraNaamEnVan I honestly don't expect her to win this one. Unless she can get into focus, she won't be able overcome the experience of the top ladies. Though I do expect at least a fourth round or quarter finals appearance. Then I think she may be able to defend Indian Wells or grab Miami.

Naomi did extremely well coming back from a set down today. Next up would be winner of Sevastova/Wang Qiang.

If Svitolina wins her match she will be the following opponent, otherwise it will be Zhang Shuai, Naomi's best friend on tour who she lost to in Beijing in the same stage of tournament which is QF.

Great to see her come back agaisnt a crafty opponent. Go Naomi
Amazing comeback. Thought she was gonna be finished. Some uncharacteristic on court behavior from her throwing racquets but I think its the expectations and pressure to win.

She needs to start off strong, don't falling behind and playing catch up if she wants to have a better chances of beating Serena in the semifinal.

Well she needs to beat Svitolina first, then maybe a rematch in the semis but its not guaranteed.

Osaka only needs the same umpire as in us open final and Serena defeats herself again. Probably Osaka doesnt need because she is the better player. Halop could have won too today, if wasnt because of Serenas serve that has a lot of weight behind it.

If they do meet again, we know that Osaka craves the match up cause she wants to beat her again. She won't back down if they do see each other in the semi.

I sure hope Carlos will officiate Osaka/Serena match if they meet in the semifinal. Carlos takes no prisoners to any player who violate the rules or threaten him. Recently, he gave a code violation to Zverev for smashing his racket during the match against Raonic, and Nadal received a time violation in the third round match against De Minaur.

Gave both violations to Raonic and Zverev.

She won but I think she could have played a cleaner match. She needs to cut down the unforced-errors and I like her chances against Pliskova in the semifinal.

Incredible off both wings. No slicing around. No drop shots. No non-sense. Maybe no variation strategy but if her opponents are not in shape, what does it matter?

She held her nerve in the 3rd set to beat Pliskova.

A win today means she has a 13 match winning streak at the slam.

Has Naomi's contract with Adidas expired? I have noticed that although Naomi Osaka is wearing Adidas at the AO, Adidas tennis account have not supported her or posted about her all through the tournament and they pretty much posted about all their major and break out stars thus far. Granted they still follow each other on all social media accounts but if you check Adidas tennis ig story you'll notice they post a promo wishing their athletes(Muguruza, Tsitsipas, Pouille, Zverev etc.) well ahead of their matches and if they win, they congratulate them. Naomi hasn't been posted not once and my God she just made a slam final and nothing?. It might just be a misunderstanding from me but tbh when arguably the biggest(currently) tennis star on Adidas makes the final at a slam and nothing has been posted about it or commented on it, it seems ominous. Also taking into consideration she hasn't been part of the AdidasxParley promo, I can't help but think it's either negotiations are ongoing or she's about to leave.
