Osaka splits from coach

Sorry to disappoint you, no one can achieve success without a good coach.
Haha, I'm not disappointed. I agree that in general, coaches add some value otherwise people wouldn't bother to hire coaches. But not every coaching relationship is a beneficial one. Time will tell how much of Osaka's recent success is due to her recently departed coach.

It could also be that Sasha asked for a very big raise and Naomi did not think he deserved it so Sasha left. That would fit the fact pattern bc Naomi's tweet seems distant (maybe she's mad at Sasha for wanting so much more money) and Sasha is thankful (now he can go coach someone else for big money).

It is impossible to win a slam without a good coach. Where was she before Bajin? An impressive but mindless exotic looking ball basher. I bet without him she would wait for slams for another couple of years for sure. Sorry to disappoint you, no one even Osaka can achieve success without a coach.
Btw, what do you mean by calling her an "exotic"? She's a human being like the rest of us.

I hope that Abdul guy stays on - he's the one who has helped Naomi's fitness improve.
There was a (I'm assuming) Japanese lady in her box for awhile, but she seems to have been replaced by the one who wears the horrible cap all the time.

This is an idiotic decision. So she thinks she just happened to go from #68 to #1 in the world and win two majors all by herself? She is about to have a huge wake up call. There is phrase that says If I ain't broke then don't fix it and she will learn about it the hard way.

I don't know the backstory to this but I am going to assume this was an impulsive decision and she will regret it. Wouldn't be surprised if they get back together in a matter of weeks.

She does have an explanation. She says she thought a burglar was trying to break in (although they don't usually ring the bell or knock on the door first).
But Serena has had an issue with a stalker back in 2011. It's well documented, just Google.

If it was her decision to fire him then she has made the same mistake Bouchard did. They think they have figured it out and need to step up to better coaches.

Look for Osaka's ranking to fall

On the bright side now she may not win tournaments which means not hearing her speeches.

Good news for Bajin he will have good players lining up and paying whatever he wants to coach them.

And what a cold hearted message too.

'Hey everyone, I will no longer be working together with Sascha. I thank him for his work and wish him all the best in the future.'

Whereas Sashas'

'Thank you Naomi I wish you nothing but the best as well. What a ride that was. Thank you for letting me be part of this.'

Feels warm and grateful.

you mean they were dating and relationship went south ?? Coach is supposed to keep the relationship professional unless he marries her. I dont' think he intended on marrying her if they were dating that is.

If they were dating it wouldn't be his first time. I though he had an affair with Azarenka when he was her coach. There maybe other players he worked with too. But I still think it's about the money.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...intruder-pulled-gun-babysitting-siblings.html

a woman the children didn't recognise rang the doorbell at around 4.30pm. Having been taught not to open the door to strangers, the kids, who have not been named, didn't answer but after they heard a loud bang on the door, the boy rushed his siblings upstairs and grabbed a handgun from his parent's bedroom. As he got to the top of the stairs, he saw a man breaking in through the front door holding a rifle, which he proceeded to point at the boy.

http://articles.latimes.com/1989-07-19/news/mn-3788_1_rebecca-schaeffer

Police said the man shot the 21-year-old Schaeffer in the chest, probably with a pistol, as she opened the glass security door at the front of the apartment complex in the 100 block of North Sweetzer Avenue.
The man probably had rung Schaeffer's doorbell to summon her, investigators said.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebecca_Schaeffer#Death

Bardo traveled to Los Angeles a third time and, after locating Schaeffer's apartment, roamed the neighborhood asking passersby if Schaeffer actually lived there.[4]Certain that the address was correct, he approached the porch and rang the doorbell.[15] Schaeffer, who was preparing for an audition for a role in The Godfather Part IIIand expecting a script to be delivered, answered the door.[16][17] Bardo showed Schaeffer a letter and autograph she had previously sent him and, after a short conversation,[18] Schaeffer asked Bardo not to come back to her home again. He then went to a local diner nearby and had breakfast.[4] An hour later, Bardo returned to Schaeffer's apartment for a second time.[15] Schaeffer answered the door again with "a cold look on her face," Bardo later said.[8] Bardo pulled out a gun from a brown paper bag and shot her in the chest at point-blank range in the doorway of her apartment building.[19] Schaeffer screamed and collapsed in her doorway bleeding as Bardo fled. A neighbor phoned paramedics, who arrived to transport her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Schaeffer was pronounced dead thirty minutes after her arrival.

Great movie - Michelle Pfeiffer at the peak of her beauty and Jeff Bridges before he became the "Dude".

Agree it was great. Director/Writer: Steve Kloves. (y)

Fantastic work from all the actors including a short but memorable role from a young Jennifer Tilly.

IMO, Michael Ballhaus was completely hosed not winning best cinematography (the red dress, camera circling the piano scene alone...). He lost to Freddie Francis for Glory.

Glory was a very good movie too. The late 80s and early 90s had so many great films. Nowadays we get... Avengers.. the 3rd sequel... followed by two prequels.

I heard this guy is the perfect hitting partner as he could emulate just about any style of play. I hope Naomi is making a good decision but come to think of it she never really praised him outright for her recent successes. She often said their communication was minimal.

Glory I thought was OK but I was referring to the cinematography award as far as the “injustice.”

Cheap and spoiled and unloyal friend. From what I am hearing, Osaka didn't really think of Sasha as being a great coach. He wasn't giving her enough good useful coaching information. He was good for hitting balls, that was about it. and when he demanded premium dollar as premiere WTA coach, she didnt' want to pay that. She only wanted to pay for ball machine kind of fee. But Sasha must have done something right ????? Naomi totally sucked in the majors before sasha and she became a different player after sasha took over.

Maybe she will go crying to him in 6 month after she starts to suck again ?
where is this info coming from?

I personally like Osaka a ton, and I empathize with her shy demeanor. As far as I can feel she seems very nice and humble. (apparently not everyone likes this about her, but to each there own). As far as the coaching thing, is it really that big of a thing? I understand that while he helped her achieve a whole new level of tennis for herself, if they were not on good terms and she was unhappy with his apart of her team, then why keep him?

I hope it isn't like that, I don't think she would treat a person let alone her coach like this, its not Naomi.

Lets see who she hires next and lets see if her entire coaching staff leaves with Bajin. Perhaps the Jap Fed had something to do with this.

He probably did more than coach her. It's normal that her rise to stardom has accelerated her emancipation and she could be looking to broaden her horizons while he would be too awkward to keep around. Strange situation to be in.

They unfollowed each other on Instagram: https://tennis.life/2019/02/11/naomi-osaka-and-sascha-bajin-part-ways/

I think they were romantically involved (is that better, mods? I've never seen a forum that deletes posts without warning/alerts).

Dude no chance. Naomi is as innocent as they come, maybe they split cause her Mom told her to or something but why do people on here always think these player coaches relationships are more than professional??!

There's probably more to the story but not like that.

Sascha I believe helped her attitude a ton, and I also think Naomi isn't the person to just do that to a person.

It could be a personality clash, she's much too reserved.
