Osaka switches to VCORE Pro/VCP PJ?

The fact she’s even hitting with the new paint makes me think she’s hungry for another Australian Open title.

won't happen. it's her year to win us open :p
I dunno. I think she likes the comfort of Melbourne. It’s the happy slam. Press is always a bit in a cheerful mood to start the new season.
the fact she’s hitting at all is a positive sign considering she was thinking about quitting.

Don’t you think she is just playing with the pj that her racquet company sent to her? How does it provide a read on how hungry she is to win titles again? Her fitness level might be a better indicator of that.

i was just joking by referring to how she alternates hard court slam titles each year

From what Karue said in his latest Ezone 2022 first look video (My Tennis HQ), it seems it was not just a PJ, she was testing it..

Well, now we know- Osaka starts 2020 play with the new Yonex EZ98 cosmetic. No VCore pro or her white LE EZ98.

Glad she's back playing on tour!

From the matches I've seen this year, Osaka is hitting well with the new EZ98. The ball comes off her strings like a rocket and she seems to be nailing it to the corners. That kind of tennis depends on precise timing and excellent footwork to dictate points, but Osaka seems committed to it. This particular version of the EZ98 seems to suit her game.

This pic clearly shows she has switched to the new 2022 Ezone!
Check out the throat. It’s super distinctive on the new 2022 with the raised section.
@innoVAShaun, thanks for uploading the pics. :)

Sorry, but am I the only one not seeing the raised throat design? Can someone post a side-by-side pics of the 2020 vs 2022 EZ98 and circle that “raised throat design”? I tried doing my own side-by-side pic with the TW catalog pictures and they look exactly the same to me.

Nevermind, I see it now!

It's always hilarious when some 3.5 guy sitting behind a computer posts something about this pro or that pro being fat or out of shape. Earlier this year someone said Taylor Fritz is fat, the guy probably has less that 5 percent body fat.
It’s not new or limited to 3.5 armchair quarterbacks. I remember JMac claiming fedr needed to lay off the Swiss chocolates during the commentary at the Wimby’04 final after Roddick took the first set.

Wow, I never realized how much she chokes her grip... She's essentially playing with a junior length'd racquet at this point.
It looks to me like Osaka is holding onto the end of her racquet (not choking up) with a semi-western grip. She really whips that forehand after loading the kinetic chain with power from the legs on up. It'll be interesting to see how her clay results will be this year.

After looking at her new racquet in many pics. The top of her Ezone is really wide. The retail on has an oval shape. Could it be a pro mode ?
