I plan to call him up tomorrow. Waiting for things to settle a little after the holidays. I don't think he'll have a pic but I'll ask to see the racket and take some pics for you.

Thanks Jonolau and Anirut,

I think I'll be in BKK from around 12am - 12pm or something like that. The plane leaves around 1:30 I think. I'm only interested in buying some tennis clothing and possibly some small things like overgrips etc. We'll probably just go there, buy me some tennis items, walk around a bit and see if we find something else and then just chill until we go to the airport and head back home to Sweden, so there's really no big plans.

PS: There were some bombs that exploded in BKK and other places in Thailand. I hope none of you or your friends/family got involved! :-(

@Janne, sorry to get back so slow. Hope you haven't left yet.

You said 12AM-12PM? Do you mean noon till midnight? Or midnight till noon? Sorry to ask this as I've come across a lot people who are confused with proper writing of time. (In this case, it'd be best to mention as 00:00 - 12:00 or whatever appropriate.)

OK, I'll take it that you'll have time from 12:00 - 00:00 because flights to Europe from BKK will leave at night. In this case, you can start off with FBT on Ramhamhaeng Road, spend your time till about 16:00 then get deeper into town to the the Siam P a ragon and Central Chidlom. These last two places are not too far away. They're about 15 minutes on foot. From FBT to either of these two places can take you about 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. You can spend time till about 21:30 around the area before heading back to the airport.

Hope you had a good stay!

Anirut and Jonolau,

Thanks for all your help! Yes, you are right, I meant 12:00 - 00:00. We've decided to go to Siam ******* and Central Chidlom and leave FBT out, since it's such a long way from there and I've read the earlier posts and know that I'll find some Adidas or Nike clothing and what-not in SP and CC. :)

If any of you happen to visit Hong Kong, let me know. I found prices here are much cheaper than anywhere else that I had visited. I was in BKK last year and found prices to be quite high, and I went to FBT, Siam P-aragon, Central Chidlom, ...
There are also a lot of very good condition second hand racquets here selling for such great prices (private sale of coz), I usually get my stuff from w w w. h k t e n n i s c l u b . c o m, click english version on the top left corner and go to 'forum', then find 'buy and sell' section. Remember USD$1 to HKD$7.8 conversion.
Don't worry about the authenticity of the used products from the site coz hk is a small place and it's easy for buyer and seller to bump into each other in the courts, so selling fake stuff means bad reputation and words spread quicker than you can imagine.
The drawback is trade is done face-to-face, so no mail order.

For cheaper deals, for anyone comin' to BKK, you'd better let us know in advance what racket you want to get.

These days there's quite a tennis community here and we can get rackets from teaching pros sponsored by the various brands. Sometimes the prices may be about the same as those special "on sale" in the stores. Most of the time it's about 30% off the retail prices.

If you'd rather go window shopping, the stores mentioned above are fine.

Thanks Anirut!

i'm planning to go over the Bangkok in April, and i'll be serious about buying the RDS001, RDS002 Tour and RDIS100 racquets - and to find yonex accessories such as dampeners and grip band which is not available in my country

i last went to Bangkok half year ago and brought a RDS001 Midplus from Supersports for $4500 baht(on sale), it was a steal and easier 30% cheaper locally

Welcome, mate! Let me know the dates. I'll check the prices of the models and let you know.

As for the accessories, it'd be better to get them from the stores.

Anirute, where do you play/teach? I play casually in my 'mooban' but the coaches there aren't sponsored. Do you play at Franks?

I don't think there're tennis outlets in Pattaya. May be JackkyKung could help as he's a Pattaya resident. I'll give him a buzz to check this thread and to help you out.

When are you dropping by?

Whoa ... I don't teach but happen to know some sponsored TPs. I don't play at Frank's as I live in the Thonburi area (west side of the river). Where do you live, though?

In fact, there're a number of TT-ers here in BKK, like Shintan17, SunflowerHx, PaulFreda, Alafter. The should be more I guess.

I, Shin and Jason (Sunflower) are planning for a drink sometime this month to celebrate a belated new year. You can report in at my forum: club.tennisenjoy.com -- it's a bi-lingual forum (if you can call it that ... haha)

2-3 they sell only badminton racquets
4 have less than 7 tennis racquets in their shop

I'd prefer Chansport and Sportnova that located near by 2-4 shop. They sell dunlop, prince, wilson, babolat, volkl, head, boris becker.

I live in Samutprakan, near Bangna.

Hahha I have trouble reading Thai as I grew up in England - I can only speak (sustain a conversation) and write a little.

Which pro's do you know?

totally right about 2,3 and 4 but they do have tennis accessories, especially Yonex (btw i have only been there 3 times in the last 2 years -so i'm no regular to the shops)

the FBT shop nearby also has plenty of Fischer racquets/bags and accessories

I remember seeing a shop beside the main road which has many Dunlop racquets

haha, all my tennis mates can make it in April thats why we planned it that way...

last July we had a tennis retreat at Phuket - unfortunately the hotel refuses to let us use the court beyond 7pm

i always stock up on the Yonex supergrap at Thailand - its 50% cheaper then if i were to get it locally

My cousin actually lives up in Bangkok and i might be coming over during summer time. How are the prices up there in USD, because the USD has become a tad bit weaker in the last couple years.

Prices here are high because of the Thai import duty taxes.
You will pay $300 for a $200 frame .... in general.
[ But Dunlop prices seem to be lower than all the other mfg's. ]
So buy in the US before you come.

Hey Anirut, I'll be travelling to BKK next week and wondering if you could kindly help to point out where I could find good deals for Dunlop and Wilson racquets? I'm desperately looking for a Wilson PS Tour 90 which I can't find anywhere. Also looking to buy a Dunlop 4D or AG 100 too.

Thanks so much.

PS Tour 90? ... sad, sad. And 4D or AG100? ... sad, sad.

You can't get 'em anywhere. Unless, of course, someone's ready to let 'em go. BTW, I have a Bio 100 Aqua @ 98.7564% condition. I'll be happy to let it go.

May be you can PM me.

Yeah sad it is.. The PS Tour is the best racquet I've ever hit with among all the 85-90 inch heads I've played.
Appreciate the offer but doubt I'll be keen on the Bio 100.
In any case, I didn't know one could measure racquet condition up to 4 decimals.. ;)

HAHAHA ... I mean it's virtually new. Only strung and hit for a very short while.

Hi Anirut,
I was looking for a Wilson BLX Six-One 95 the 309 gr model. They were on sale at Supersport but no 43/8. I live in Pattaya but travel to BKK often.

Hi Eric.

It's sad that it's really difficult to find 4 3/8 grip here in Thailand. May be if I drop by some branches of the store, or any stores that has the model, I'll give things a look to see if they have the grip size.

I'd think it'd be better if you can PM me and we can exchange phone numbers so I can call if I see anything.

Hi Anirut, for some reason I cant find the pm function. I have checked a few stores and for some reason they dont have the new model of this racket. Its on the TW Europe site and I have spoken with a friend from Germany who comes to visit often and he said he could bring one for me. Here is my email..reply back and I will get you my info. I know Paul Freda..met him a few yrs ago and bought a nice Head MG PP off him.

Quick reply! Its not in super sports Pattaya...This is the old model so it should be cheaper but id need to hold it and swing it to know if its gonna be too heavy for me. I have 4 different rackets already...it is like a disease!

Thanks fella!

Hey man, good news!

Does new mean never used with plastic on the handle? Racket sleeve? Is is unstrung or strung?

Do you know where I can get leather handle grips in BKK to add some weight to the handle as I feel it will swing to heavy for me. I would want to add a leather grip under the regular grip and possibly an over grip too as i like 4 1/2 grips but i'm happy to build up.

Thanks
