Underrated - Longevity, Well-roundedness, Djokovic at USO, Djokovic volleys (not overhead lol), Nadal on grass/net game, Laver, Vilas, Connors, Newcombe, Federer at USO, Alex de Minaur

10 - Navratilova's doubles career being a criteria for her to be female GOAT
9 - Safin being Federer's equal "if he could be bothered"
8 - Nalbandian being Federer's near-equal "if he could be bothered"; Emerson, according to those with little knowledge of tennis history
7 - ATGs with more "celebrity profiles" (Agassi, Mac, Becker, King), often rated a bit too high in GOAT lists
6 - Graf (due to Seles stabbing), Nadal and Novak Djokovic (due to recency bias)
5 - Federer as the GOAT, Nadal as clay GOAT, Sampras's career (shown to be ATG but not GOAT level)
4 - Lendl's career and impact on tennis, Connors' career and impact on tennis
3 - Evert, Wilander, Court, Rosewall; Emerson, according to those who do too much research into tennis history
2 - Pancho Gonzales, should be in everyone's all-time top 5 (minimum) yet his name is unknown to the majority of tennis fans
1 - Jack Kramer, the totality of his life in tennis (player, then pioneer of the pro game, which led directly to today's global ATP tour)
0 - Tomic

To be fair, Navratilova's doubles carreer is just the icing on top. Her singles career is already more than enough to have her as FemGOAT, and by a fair margin, too, imho.

LOL, I knew of all my choices, this would be the one that people disputed.

Her singles career isn't enough to place her ahead of Serena, Graf, or arguably Court and Evert.

But anyway, my main gripe with people talking about her doubles career is that they only add doubles on for her - i.e. they don't do an entire ranking for everyone based on the totality of their careers (singles and doubles) - which would lead to things like McEnroe and Newcombe being ranked much higher, if applied consistently. They do entire rankings based solely on singles, then to push their favourite Navratilova to the top, they throw in doubles just for her (ignoring the fact that Court and Serena also have stellar doubles records).

So be it.

Federer’s volley skills are the most underrated thing on this forum.

Speak to any former pro above the age of 40 and they will likely back up my view that Federer has the greatest volley in the history of the game.

1 Pete Sampras

Why? I don't think that being considered as top3-6 of all times is underrated. Unlike Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Laver he was unable to win FO, a thing much harder for Djoko or Fed since they're playing in Nadal's clay era. And Borg and his huge dominance during his times. Anyway, most of the people put Sampras above Borg, so I really don't know how is he underrated.

Paire changing direction down the line off the forehand off a mid paced ball, just might be the worst shot of all time. There is Ivo's backhand drive mind you... 0 points.

7. Fed serve, Sampras serve, Nadal without injuries
5. Djoker smash
4. Calleri backhand, D.Medvedev serve, Delpo footwork
3. Nishikori forecourt game, Kiefer tactics, Ancic pre mono
2. Simon crowd support
1. Jason Goodall
