Overgrip for IG Radical Pro?

I'm a little worried about the white (synthetic?) grip on the IG Radical pro in that its going to get brown/gray/dirty really quickly and would like to keep it white and clean so I am looking at overgrips/tape.

I cant seem to find any "IG Radical Pro" overgrip, but there is "IG Presige Pro" overgrip. Does the PRestige Pro overgrip work for the IG Radical as well? Or is there some other recommended overgrip? Is tape better?

The other question I have is, if you use an overgrip for a while, does the adhesive leave a sticky residue on the underlying grip itself making it all sticky feeling if at some point you want to get rid of the overgrip and just use the standard grip that came with the racquet originally?

White overgrips come from various manufacturers, but not Head, I guess. I use Dunlop white OG's.
The residue is minimal, but instead of being sticky, surprisingly, it's kinda hard and slippery, what little is left on the original underlaying grip.

Hi Forte,

Not sure if this a goof question, but OK... I'll bite.

1. Overgrips are not model dependent, and unlike replacement grips, branding is nearly invisible. You can put Yonex Overgrips on Wilsons, or Wilson OGs on Dunlops. The only asterisk to that, is that some overgrips are on the short side length wise, (pacific) and some are a few inches longer and better suited for players who have a 2 handed back hand.... looking to wrap as high up on the handle as possibe. Some palettes are longer than others, so length is just about your only issue with branding/fit choices.

2. Head does make over grips. Of the four choices available, three are available in white. I wouldnt reco any of them tho. They feel great when your hands are dry, but waay slippery when hands are sweaty esp the XtremeSoft. You'd be much better off with Yonex SuperGrap, a longtime Talk Tennis favorite. If you can find Pro Supex Overgrip, that's pretty good too especially if you like a bit spongier feel.

3. Most who use overgrips do so not as a way to preserve the look of the original grip, but to enhance the feel, especially under hot and humid conditions. However, if that's what yer after, I'd reco not peeling off the adhesive strip at the start of the wrap near the buttcap. Just wrap over it, the tension will hold it. When you've wrapped it up to the end of the handle, near the throat, keep your finishing tape off the original grip. If you wrap it this way, adhesive will never touch your original grip.

4. Finally, you can find more on the topic, in this section of the board.

If you want a thin white overgrip that does little to change the grip size, and leaves no residue, try the new Wilson Pro Sensation overgrip.
