Pacific X Tour Pro 97 and Fischer Vacuum Pro Classic 98

i'm a big fan of the Vacuum Pro (classic) 98 since the mid-nineties. I've played with almost every iteration of that frame and still own and use them. I own 6 of the silver and red 330 grams model (Medvedev 1999), 2 yellow and silver versions, and 2 of the most recent "Retro" models. The new X Tour Pro 97 is clearly from the same mold and uses the same grommet system. It seems like the same specs as well (320 unstrung). I hope it kept the same grip shape, too, although it will never be the same without the dome-shaped butt cap. It's probably stiffer as well, with an RA of 67...

Has anyone been able to compare this new frame with the old Fischers?

I've been playing with the Pro Classic 98 for awhile, do have two red and silver but they are 320 gr., in fact, I think you got one of your 330 gr. from me. I've been hitting with the Vacuum Pro Classic, purple and gold 330 gr, since January, best feel ever.
Just got an XTP 97(315gr), and found it stiffer and with a smaller sweetspot compared to the Fischers. I added 3.5 grams at 3 and 9...big difference; however, still falls short to the Classic98, especially the 330 gr. version. Just feels not as solid, maybe you will have to play with lead tape modifications for awhile in order to replicate the Fischer's performance

Thanks. I guess I'll have to demo one soon. This also means that grommets for the Vacuum Classic 98 will become available again, so this is a good opportunity to stock up. I've been hitting with 2 yellow and silver SIC-Ceramics Pro 98s, and even at 320 grams, they still feel quite solid. Great touch and good power. They don't make them like they used to
