Paddle face durability

I should start by saying I’m very new to the sport. I want to invest in a paddle of my own instead of borrowing one. My question is how durable is the face of the joola hyperion cfs and the crbn1? I’m going to buy one of these two. I’ve heard that grit that’s sandblasted onto cheaper paddles wears off. These two appear to have texture built in to the paddle. Would this wear down over time?

Pretty much any carbon faced paddle will last much longer than fiberglass, graphite, etc..in terms of spin..
Many say Gearbox paddles last long and retain spin capability.
Pickleball studio on y tube has good information on topics like this...

Thanks. How often would you say they need to be replaced?

Depends on your play level, hours on court, unforeseen damaged during play...etc..
But you can get years out of a paddle..
It all depends on your desire to spend $..

-i crossed this bridge on my latest paddle purchase
-i got the diadem.warrior (TEAL)! (well aware of the grit wearing of)
-i figured i was buying this paddle "for the feel"!
-and not so much for the spin
-so, even if all the grit wears out, when ever that is (at my level/frequency of play)
-ill still have the GREAT feel at impact, which is/was/will.be the reason for this paddle!

Interesting. What this guy doesn't mention whether the spin loss stabilizes over time, just like how strings lose a lot of tension initially then the curve flattens. I can't imagine anyone swapping paddles every 3 months at $250.

And is 1300 RPM vs 1700 RPM a huge difference. I mean in Tennis, Rafa routinely hits 500 RPM more than many other pros on his FH, yet folks compete just fine with the lesser spin? Is it just Big Number Syndrome here?

What I would expect is that carbon fibre paddles will settle in after a month or two of use to a lower spin level that maintains its level for a much longer time. Just like strings on a tennis racket.

Anyways, I got the Franklin Signature on a really good deal, so it's a grit paddle. But at $48, I'm fine replacing the paddle if the grit wears. I can't imagine replacing carbon fibre paddles until they break.

Agree.. it's not like a $250 is going to give you Nadal spin in pickle..that's not the game..
If people want to hit with spin...then Pedal is that game..
And not going to replace a paddle every x cause I loose a 100 rpm or so..
Ball brand and indoor/outdoor ball also comes into the spin factor..
Not to mention wind, court service and opponent.
I still think the Franklin Ben Johns signature is one of the best paddles still.. regardless of the 2 thicknesses..
I bought 4 for less than 1 carbon paddle..
