Hi All

Tennis player who wants to play PB because knees dont always allow tennis.

Looking for a paddle with
1) decent consistent spin
2) that will not wear out and lose spin within a couple of months like the top paddle seem to do.
3) Also want a BIG tennis style grip.
4) last me 1 year

My Current paddle is a 8.0 oz nuipipo MX-06 from Amazon so I would like to stay in that weight range

Any suggestions?

Ha Ha. My knees are messed up and doctor has suggested to join the gym and work lower body as basic physical therapy will not help get me into tennis shape. They have indoor PB and I thought I can get a couple games in each time I work out.

1, 2 and 4 point to Gearbox. The grips are small, so I have been customizing them. I take off the base grip and trim cloth tape like gaffer's tape to fit the bevels. I do about 5-6 layers on the sides parallel to the face of the paddle and 2-3 on the ones perpendicular. I then put on a leather grip and overgrip. It ends up being around a 4 3/8 grip and close enough in shape that I don't mind.

The Gearbox paddles do have a lower swing weight, so I also add lead to open the sweet spot. With the leather and lead I end up playing the 8.5 models at 9.2 and it's still quick at the net.

So many of the paddle seem to fail on your #2 that I think it's worth customizing the grip.

Selkirk Amped. The Fiberflex holds up well and excellent grip. Bonus that it’s not ridiculously priced like many paddles are getting.

Not PB related, but look into kneesovertoesguy and his ATG program. I used to not be able to serve a set without glaring knee pain, (tall person problems)

since shifting my leg training to bullet proofing and mobility, i can play without any pain.

seriously look into that, just for life purposes!!

Sounds good.

Will definitely look into it.

CRBN checks all your boxes - put a thick overgrip on it if you need it thicker than stock!
