I thought a long time that our mattress is the reason for my back pain and not tennis. So in summer I was sleeping often on other mattesses and the pain was still there.
1,5 months ago I changed the side of where I am lying on the mattress with my wife, and my pain got less. I have to say that I also play less than before, and I also changed shoes when playing! So a lot of factors which come in play, and I cannot really say what it is, just that atm I am much better. Unfortunately my ellbow got worse, which I have to do an MRT xray next days..

I also have some problems with my back, but I'm a bit afraid to go to the doctor. I tried to use different special pain creams, but nothing helped. I was thinking maybe I should go for a massage?

I understand your hesitation about seeing a doctor, but persistent back problems might need professional attention. While massages can offer temporary relief, they might not address the underlying issue. Consider consulting a physiotherapist; they can provide targeted exercises and treatments to alleviate your pain and improve your overall back health.

Speaking from personal experience, physiotherapy made a significant difference when I had shoulder problems. It's worth exploring as a long-term solution for your back discomfort. For more information on effective treatments for shoulder pain, you can check out shoulder pain treatment resources.

I had a weightlifting injury in my 20s and it affected tennis and basketball but it's not a problem if I keep up with my core work. I've not had the problem in the past decade.

I've had other minor issues with hips, knees and calf and returning back to gym training keeps them away. I'm in my 60s and I have to do all of this maintenance stuff to avoid injuries. I couldn't really tell you which exercise helps avoid which injuries but I just do quite a number of them and that keeps me healthy.
