At least we got rid of Carillo. That was the worst. Shriver is starting to be noticed as annoying as well.

i'm not watching espn so as to avoid their whole chatty crew (and their penchant for doing interviews while live tennis is going on) . . . but i flipped past the channel and my roommate asked, "did pam shriver just pick up her kids from soccer practice? she seems like a frumpy suburban mom."

I dont think Pam is that bad. Mary Carillo leaving espn made my day though.

Pam Shriver is not awful compared to what Carillo was and what some of the others are. She is bad, but how bad she is depends on who she is with. With Carillo gone she isn't nearly as annoying at least to me because they always seemed to feed off of each other. Now I don't think she is amazing but at least recently she seems to at least be able to analyze a match better then she used to...although thats still not saying much.

Seeing these young players and knowing how she can never compete with them in today's game of blasting, even if she were back in her prime, can't blame her.
one time Pam mentioned to Hingis how she was once no.3 in the world. Hingis arched her eyebrow and asked with mock surprise : " You?"
Pam had it in for Hingis after that.
I don't know about their past. Maybe she disagrees with him a lot. I don't watch so much tennis, I'm more of a player than a watcher. But you need to come up with a better example AND learn the rules of tennis because any good commentator would correct Brad on that. Sure it would have been a winner, but if you touch the net, you lose the point no matter what. It's not arguable.

BG is the male version of her, imo.
They are just mouths, but Brad at least really nails it sometimes. Other times he is just trying to be a basketball announcer bringing down da roof.
BG is everyones whipping boy, he says so many stupid things. He is soo much better when he is in the crowd and has to half whisper.

From the books I've read, it seems like a few of the pros don't like him. I like Brad and his book. I still think he blew it on the touch the net thing. You don't have to choose between Brad and Pam. It's OK to like them both. I'm not taking sides.

Yes I know, I dont hate her or anything. I just found it quite funny., But she is right rules are rules. I do know the rules of tennis however I have not played since Dec 22. Cowrillo leaving ESPN made my day though.

Yeah, I like her myself and her commentary is fun and honest.
I think overall that the commentary is overdone by them all, so wouldn't weed her out as any worse/better. Actually J Mac annoys the hell out of me with his fake self-deprication and adulation at the same time, but even he cracks me up at times. He just needs to interject MUCH less.
For me, P Annacone is one of the better ones.

All-time great doubles player for sure, but I don't like her commentating style. It just feels a bit too forced a lot of the time. On Tennis Channel, I've really come to appreciate Jim Courier and most enjoy when he is paired up with Jason Goodall or Paul Annecone.

Fab interview she did on the tennis podcast about crossing the lines in tennis, as a teen she had a affair with he coach 40 years her senior, it was all about the how a relationship akin to a student pupil can effect things
She has opened up on this situation to bring awareness to to the tour about potentially abusive relationships, and how the authorities within the tour can protect young players.. not just female I might add male as well, I don’t expect a serous response to this post of course , only a sarcastic reply
