Can Raonic beat 3 straight Paris champions to claim his first masters 1000 title?Or can Djokovic join Federer and Nadal as the only active players with at least 20 masters 1000 titles?

They have met 3 times, all on clay, with Djokovic leading the H2H 3-0. This is their first meeting on a non clay surface.

Great server vs great returner. Who do you've got?

I think it could be a competitive match but I have to give the edge to Djokovic. Djokovic in three.

How do you infer any "should, would, could" from that post of mine?

With that finals record, how on earth can a player lose so many SLAM finals. Like two years without losses in finals, and in-between that same period so many lost slam finals.

And just one slam a year. How on earth is it even possible, with a player of THAT caliber? :o

Still doesn't explain where the should, would, could part came from. Oh well....

But nothing in my post intimated that I felt he "should, would, could have" won more Slams which leaves your reply to me somewhat redundant.

TBH, I was not aware that he's been THIS dominant. Why on earth not in slams?

And it's not YOU that I was referring with that should...could...would... It's your hero that has the mental issues. :)

Djokovic is without doubt the best player in the world right now. Sweeping aside an in-form Murray and Nishikori but he faces another in-form player in Raonic. I think Milos is going to have to be on top form and hope Novak isnt. So thats how i will vote

Raonic in 3 very tight sets.

Read over the posts again and you'll realise that's it's me who's in the right. Anyway I'm going to take a nice hot Radox bath. Laterz!

I think Raonic is going to pull this one out.
I seriously doubt it. In the last 4 years Djokovic hasn't lost a single final to guys not named Federer,Nadal or Murray.

I just don't see Raonic winning this. Djokovic can really be annoyingly solid at times. That's gonna drive Milos nuts

Novak hasn't lost a non Slam final since 2012 Cincinnati. Good luck Milos.

I remember that one well.

Anyway, Novak in 2. 6-3 6-3.
Milos to get as many games as his opponent got against Roger in 2012.

Best of 5 matchs are more exhausting for the nerves.

Surprised to see so many people picking Raonic here, Djokovic has the game to beat him for the 4th time in 4 attempts.

the 3 previous matches were played on clay, I am not sure indoor hardcourt will change anything, Raonic may be more difficult to break but also Djokovic should cruise on serve in this match

This is not a surprise at all. Djokovic is the most hated player here. If he by any chance plays 300+ raked player he would be losing the poll. Both Murray and Nishikori were leading the polls by a landslide before the QF and SF matches. Fedal fanboys are just ridiculous with their hate and butthurtism. They simply can't stand someone else dominating the tennis world and being #1.

Thanks for noticing though.

Because Rafa, Andy were better on the day.
They are not slouches.

Just one slam per year. Simply outrageous from Djokovic

Rao really serves impressively in this tournament, he can def upset Novak in 3.

Because prime Rafa and Andy are actual competition unlike Gonzalez, Baghdatis, 35 year old Agassi, and Roddick

Wow, bookies have Raonic as a massive underdog.

$1 on Djokovic pays $1.16.
$1 on Raonic pays $5.00.

Sure, obviously Djokovic is the favorite, but I didn't think it would be that skewed...

Why wouldn't Roddick be comeptition? He played as well as Murray in some of those slam finals vs Federer.

As for Agassi, well that one was pretty weak but still Djokovic had almost 33 year old Fed in the W final. I guess that's weak competition too.

Novak faced Tsonga in a slam final, Federer faced Gonzalez. Both of these finalists stormed through those respective draws, inclusing Nadal. No difference between them.

Oh BTW, Fed -Murray H2H in slam finals is 3-0 Fed. So what excuse does Djokovic have for losing to him?

Look which tired, fallacious old argument is being trundled out again...

Baghdatis, Gonzalez, Roddick all made GS finals (won 6 matches), and got beaten by Roger there, just the same as Novak, Rafa, Andy.

Weak era is utter c**p purely designed to denigrate Federer's achievements so that Djokovic and Rafa don't look so inferior to him, and you know it.

Raonic gave Novak fits on Clay. We will see.....if Raonic plays like he did against Federer. He has a small chance.

From Raonic's semi over Berdych. Has there ever been a player who displays such pure unbridled joy on the court as Milos? How can people dismiss this man-child as a "bot" is beyond me. :)

Raonic to shock the world and beat Djokovic in a tight three set match to win his first masters title.
