Novak Djokovic says that he is worried about his knee, and that the pain felt very similar to the meniscus tear at Roland Garros

“I am very worried, honestly, I don’t know what to say. I finished the match, and the intense pain went away. Whether I hit myself or slipped, I don’t even know.

It all resembled the 4th round of Roland Garros where I managed to finish the match, and then I found out I was injured. I am pleased with the victory, but I am worried”
May God have mercy on him and he is allowed to be at his best.

I don’t why you all are complaining about Tsitsipas. Djokovic is the best player in the world on clay and grass after Alcaraz. He is top 3 currently on hard courts with Sinner and Alcaraz. Except for the three games where he was moving gingerly after tweaking his knee and mentally making some unforced errors, Djokovic played much better than Tsitsipas throughout the match. The gap between him and Tsitsipas is wider than it was a couple of years ago because Djokovic is the same while Tsitsipas has declined.

I guess I know that Djokovic haters call all the young players who are unable to beat him a mug. In defense of the young guns who are all elite players, they are all ranked below Djokovic because they are not better than him and they have a low chance to beat him in big tournaments. Just enjoy the quality of the tennis that Djokovic is still putting out at his age.
Did you actually see today's match ?

Djokovic was clearly hampered and yet Tsitsipas couldn't capitalise (even after getting a 40 - 0 on serve ). That's what triggers me and others IMO.

I'd have no qualms if it was a well playing Djokovic because even at 37 he is still the second or third best player in the world .

Feels disingenuous to call anyone who criticizes Djokovic's opponent a hater though

Djokovic about his injured knee:

RTS (Serbian radio-televison): What needs to happen to see you on the court tomorrow (friday, semi-finals)?

#Novak: What needs to happen? This (kisses his orthodox cross) needs to happen. I pray to God that everything will be okay.
He probably getting a scan/test now on his knee. If it serious he withdraws. If it just minor discomfort then he should be fine to play if they can treat it with something. We will see.

Mental games for Sunday have already started.

He was very hampered for a couple of games. After the trainer gave him pills and did his magic, he seemed to be at least over 90%. As Djokovic always does when he is injured, he started serving and playing more offensively and he is very dangerous when he plays that way. That is why he wins so many matches when he is injured.

I have started a thread in the past asking why Djokovic doesn’t play more aggressively all the time. He is a more dangerous player when he does that these days in his late thirties.

Alcaraz did almost beat Norrie in Rio last year after getting cramps
Every top most talent has the ability to kamikaze their way to the win, its not just Kyrgios who can do it. Djokovic has done it, Nadal has done it.

Mugsetti is a bigger mug lol
baloney, certainly not lately...playing, and competing, at a far higher level than Stef...he'll give Novak a much tougher time tomorrow if Novak takes the court....he's already played him tough at the last two majors, and it's only best of three this time...though with Novak's knee it might be better for him if it was five

No doubt Musetti's level has been higher but he has been suspect in terms of mentality for long now

How do you lose a set after being 4-0 up. And then being 5-3, 40-0 up?
That too against an INJURED player?
Seriously, credit to Novak, but Titspas is definitely a Mental midget.
Maybe Tsitsipas bet a whole lot of money on himself losing in 2 sets?
Odds would've been drastically against Novak in that moment when Tsitsipas was 5-3 and 40-0 or when he was 4-0 up which might've been when Tsitsipas had his team bet against him.
Much like Davydenko who was up a set and leading Arguello and then mysteriously a whole lot of bets were placed on Arguello in the second set.
No doubt there is a whole lot of corruption in the sport and match fixing is happening.
Especially in this case with a 37 year old Djokovic being hampered (or acting like he is) and Tsitsipas being unable to close out the second set despite 2 breaks up and then having multiple set points on his own serve. Something is fishy about this.

holy **** what an idiot
Tsitsipas is involved in match fixing. Either he bet on himself to lose or took a bribe. An investigation is necessary. Tennis, especially in the Olympics is rampant with match fixing and bribes. The Serbians want Novak winning the gold. No surprise if Tsitsipas was offered huge money to take the fall or placed a bet to lose the match.

Disagree here. His groundstrokes and serving improved after the painkillers but the movement was really not there. He appeared to be very tentative moving right to his forehand or playing fh approach shots.

Any top player should have taken advantage of this and the fact that T'pas didn't even take a set is downright pathetic.

Fair points on Djokovic playing aggressively (y)

What's wrong with all you guys running down a player who lost to the best in the world?
Djokovic is not the #1 player (by definition the best in the world) anymore. It´s someone else by now. You probably missed that. Times are changing.

I can't tell whether you were being serious or sarcastic here
