Paris Olympics 2024 QF - Carlos Alcaraz vs Tommy Paul

Not really a destruction, Paul won the first set and it was tight until the 3rd and 4th

It was utter destruction in the final third and fourth sets. Painful to watch. Had to turn it off.
TP embarrassed himself on grass. TP will redeem himself here on a more friendlier surface.
It should be a closer match.

They have never met on clay. But Paul has wins over him. Including Montreal's slow hard court.
Expect this to be closer than the Wimbledon destruction.
Nah, Carlos improving continuously, therefore another x2 GS this year.

Tommy a good player, but already ceiling stuff for him, he will be competitive as always, one tough set at least.

Frustrating that Alcaraz has to wait for Swiatek to clean up Zheng although It's probably better for him to rest more.

I think most of us know the best player in the world Holger Rune would have won this tournament. Alas, he's injuried.

I will therefore root for Alcaraz in this match.

Paul is really coming out firing, This has been a good year for him, unlucky to face Alcaraz twice on the big stage...

Despite holding you can tell Alcaraz is struggling to penetrate the court on the red stuff, arguably his worst surface.

That's because it's slower, Most players have movement benefits on Clay.

No they don't. Many do not look good moving on clay. We see it differently. Raz can be rushed on HC imo, because of how he plays. On clay, that forehand is destructive on another level.

Imo the red clay is slower and his forehand is easier to return and less lethal.
