Paris Olympics 2024 QF - Carlos Alcaraz vs Tommy Paul

Tommy really messed up that set. Dumb to keep approaching on his forehand when you're not a great volleyer instead of just waiting for next shot, which would have been short ball. Alcaraz fights through another match where he was down set point and into the SFs.

Whos the lady in red tees in alcaraz box who is being shown so much and who clapped wildly.

And who are the couple in top tier of the same box. His parents?

i mean dude is just 21, comparing him vs sampras or fed at 21 isn't fair. guy reached the top very quickly so his (slight) arrogance is understandable.
But come on, he does it worse and more often than even Zverev now. Nevertheless, congratulations to him for the win, and let's hope for a final against Djokovic again.

Paul played amazing and against a normal player he wins that set. I can't believe Alcaraz won some of those points. His explosiveness and speed is off the charts. You need to play out of your mind to win a couple of crucial points against him, let alone a match. He refuses to give in.

Paul dipped towards the end the 2nd. Would have been nice too see a 3rd but kinda glad because of heat here I don't have to sit in one spot and watch a long match with more matches to come.

To me it's pretty simple now: Novak - Alcaraz Olympics Gold FINAL coming up.
It will be total Box office.
Can't wait.

He dipped a little bit when he was gonna serve it out but Alcaraz turned on a gear that game too. Paul stayed at a high level all the way through IMO and should have taken this to a 3rd considering the positions he was in on some of those crucial points.

Djokovic is here to play. Won't be another Wimbledon. Djokovic if he gets to the final is ready for a battle.
I think Novak wins that one. NOTHING will prevent him from winning GOLD. It's his last chance and he will do whatever it takes to win,.
Alcaraz can win another gold later. So I doubt he will be as invested.

That's it, don't talk to me again. ;-)
He makes tons of UEs on clay simply because he is usually not patient enough to construct points like Nadal or Djokovic and it hurts him much more than other surfaces.
Even in the TB he missed 3 easy (second) returns with no reason.

Lol at this narrative of Novak winning everything he wants and whenever he loses it is because he did not want. There is no way he “did not want to win” or was not motivated to win the Wimbledon. Its tiresome

So what is his best in your opinion?

It's actually hilarious that of the two best players in the world one is 21 and the other is 37.
The next many finals will be Alcaraz laying beat downs to a 37 year old past his sell by date Djokovic! Lol

Jokes aside it wouldn’t surprise me if Musetti made the final here. He’s looking really good on clay and this format suits him!

With full days rest, alacarz will be hard to beat now. Remember that he had a very late doubles match yesterday which was tense too
He mentioned afterwards that he felt fatigued in the second set as a result of playing a lot yesterday. A good rest now will be just what he needs for the semi.

Ideally he needs rest before the final.
Is the schedule - one day break for the SF and then the final on the next day.
