Ideally he needs rest before the final.
Is the schedule - one day break for the SF and then the final on the next day.
No, the semis are tomorrow but not until the evening so he has got 24 hours rest. The bronze medal match is on Saturday and the final on Sunday.

Edit: One semi is day time, the other in the evening

He makes tons of UEs on clay simply because he is usually not patient enough to construct points like Nadal or Djokovic and it hurts him much more than other surfaces.
Even in the TB he missed 3 easy (second) returns with no reason.

Yeah but he hits a heavy ball, is very fast and has a great dropshot. Power baseliners dominate clay in modern era.

For example I wouldn't call Stan a patient point constructor but clay was arguably his best surface and he won a very impressive 2015 FO title.

The guy is just incredible. He doesn’t have a weakness to be honest.
Alcaraz's only weakness is that he doesn't do well with % play and restricting errors. He tries so many low % shots and loses points/games/sets when he could clearly win.
He makes things tougher for himself than they need to be.
It's a curse of having too much talent. You think that you can do anything. Why try to rally and keep the ball in play, when you can hit a winner from anywhere and at any time?
That is why IMO - Alcaraz will NOT come close to winning half as many slams as Novak/Nadal have won. He just isn't efficient enough.

Yes - well, but he still makes too many unforced errors. If he has to be a Clay ATG, he can't keep on going 5 sets vs Mugs on clay.
Borg/Nadal/Prime Guga/Wilander/Lendl/Prime Fed etc would destroy most of the ATP without losing sets. In the case of Prime Nadal/Prime Borg, without losing too many games.
Power baseliner is great, but clay more than any other surface, rewards patience, defence and point construction. Carlos just goes for broke waaay too much. So many low % shots, when he has the game to be more patient and win easier.

He's still learning the trade and is extremely young in life. He'll get better no doubt.

Well, yes. If he figures out the right mix of offense, defense, transition and cuts out the unforced errors - then it is Good night for the rest of the tour. Because this guy is just PLAIN better than anyone in general.
Barring injury NOTHING will stop him then.

Fatigue is a factor in this case. I've seen him say that he doesn't want to be enslaved by Tennis.

He found the right mix in the Wimbledon final where he played more conservatively than usual. He also was willing to grind it out last year against Djokovic in the Wimbledon final once he lost the first set. I think he is willing to tone down his aggression in Slam matches where he is afraid he might lose if he is not disciplined. Right now he has that fear only against Djokovic. But he hopefully becomes more efficient as he progresses through tournaments in the future. The kid turned 21 recently and is barely an adult, but he is already talented enough to win 4 Slams on all the surfaces playing the way he does.

Did we really need worthless Paul representing us? LOL. he makes roddick look like Federer. Just don’t do the Olympics until you get some players worth a crap America. Is that too much to ask?

If your country sucks at tennis don’t exploit their suckage. Just go “ehh sorry we have nothing for you and no space at the moment”

Paul would have had a bigger chance on HCs. He has improved a lot since last year. I think he will do some serious Damage at the open This year.

Paul did pretty well, Alcaraz is just too good right now, Djoko is lucky than the final will be in 3 sets instead of 5..its his only chance to win vs Carlos right now.

Everyone is so hard on Tsitsipas. But Paul's choke was brutal too. double break point, 5-2, set point, and he still manages to lose the set.

Point starting at 3:19 running fh was one of the best I’ve seen. Look where he is when he returns the serve lol
