I just started this game not long ago after playing Diablo 3.
This is really fun game and more complex than Diablo. but it is very difficult at times.

I know a lot of WoW players really like it and it seems to get positive reviews. Never played it myself, I was playing a good bit of Elderscrolls online but got to a point where its just grinding dungeons for gear and everyone fights over who gets the drops, which is why I quite WoW to begin with.
Now after playing PSO2 beta on Xbox I'm exited to play it and probably will until it gets to the grind/bicker fest like ever other freakin MMO.
I'm assuming if PoE is free you get over the grind/bickerfest by simply buying your way to the top through RNG.

You can only buy cosmetics in poe. No weapons, currency etc. I have maybe $300-600 in them, stash tabs and my skill mtx's (reusable)
I give at least $60 a year because they give us 4 new leagues (like wow xpacs, content, items etc).
They have it on xbox too if you wanna give it a shot, but no cross platform play

I am still new to the game and don't know much, but nerf is not good. It is so much complicated game than expected.
how to make a regular skill gem to Vaal gem? Do I apply Vaal orb to the skill gem as I would to Chrom orb to change color?

First your have to fix your account. Hit the "enter key", it will bring up the chat box, which boxes up top do you have checked?
Also type "/afk " in game, as soon as you log in i say hello and it says "this player if afk" when the afk timer is 5min
You can vaal a gem, but you usally do that when it gets lvl20 with 20 quality, that way it can get lvl21 or 23 quality. There is no other reason to vaal a gem. Even when you do, you do not get its special vaal power, you need to run those red side area's and find them.

Not at the moment, but I may give it another go when they reset the ladder again. Was playing the hardcore ladder after the reset earlier in the year, but I got a little bored and had a really careless death.

I am very surprised to see people still playing Diablo 2. I saw some posts in Youtube and it brings me nostalgic feelings.
I am playing path of exile and it is so complex that Diablo game seems like beginner's level. If you are busy with life I would suggest to stay in Diablo game since poe is too addictive.
Alot of people are playing Path of Diablo
