Bc it's no wonder no one likes him :D

Was just thinking about everything, and I kinda have to admit, outside of some obnoxious roaring, Djokovic has been pretty chill, mellow, respectable, and had some cool moments on court this year with kids etc.... sooooo......... if it happens, I guess im kinda on that train of it would be cool to say I saw him do the CYGS. We all know im NOT rooting for it, but if he's in the final, I will be watching even if it's against some mug. Maybe deep down part of me already expects it to happen, but I GUESS it would be cool to see it if it did. I can't say he's done much to deserve my hate lately, so if it happens, the hat will tip.

Nothing wrong with Nadal’s last comment, the problem is the things he said before that. Accusing him of helping players publicly to look good, implying he faked an injury at AO or saying he’s obsessed with the slam record, those are things he shouldn’t have said. Had Djokovic said such bad things about Nadal, the amount of vitriol would have been off the charts and everyone would play the "no wonder nobody likes him" card.

Humbalito has bought a lot of good will over the years and has earned the right to comment when someone's behavior is that unseemly.

Novak has already hurt someone with his toxic outbursts (I'm sure she was faking the whole thing though) and didn't care, and it's going to happen again. Can you imagine a shard of racquet flies into PCB's eye as he's approaching the bench for the changeover while Novak is hulk-smashing his racquet on the net post?

Would Novak care? Would you? Or would you blame PCB for not watching where he was going and say he deserved what he got?

That's a rhetorical question, we all know what the answer is.

Imagine if that poor boy
who Federer hurt
had severe injury.

But no,

Federer was even laughing at it.

Double standards everywhere.

He also insulted Serbs:

Honestly, the crowd was fantastic every single day,” Nadal continued.
But, sometimes, people from some countries [Serbia], they probably don’t understand how tennis is."

Single ITF-ATP 'world cup' needed for health of tennis - Nadal - Tennis Majors

If Novak said that about Spain or any country,

he would be crucified by media.

But it's not a pattern and that's what Djokeists don't get.

The ballkid wasn't injured and it was in the normal course of play.

Djok had been warned in that match already and then hit a ball out of frustration that hit someone in the throat.

And shortly before that match he'd been asked about his anger issues on court and basically told the reporter to fck off.

Vamos are the worst fan base by far.

Really.

"Laura Clark, who was struck by the tennis ball, was at the receiving end of a barrage of vile messages on Instagram from Djokovic’s abusive supporters after a Serbian tabloid revealed the details of her social media handle.

Several fans of the world number one accused her of pretending to be hurt by the tennis ball just to get Djokovic disqualified. However, many trolls turned abusive to target Clark and sent her death threats.

Under a post dedicated to Clark’s late son, a troll wrote, “Don’t worry, you’ll join him soon.” Her son Josh passed away in 2008 in a motorcycle accident."

No excuses for hitting the ball boy.

Fed is a grown up, doesn't need a warning before that it's wrong.

There are lunatics in every fan base.

But my general impression is that

Vamos are the worst.

Eh, it’s a nice change from the fake Djokovic-Nadal unity people came up with to gang up on Fed.
Any alliance between the two fanbases is always fake, lol. Except for Federer and Nadal fans, who are fans of the events such as Wimbledon 2007, 2008, and AO 2009.

it’s funny bc the Fed withdrawal caused almost as much controversy as Djokovic at the Olympics (which to me was a far bigger deal)

My next thread will be something like: “Which was the bigger disgrace to tennis: Federer withdrawing from the French Open, or Djokovic breaking a racket?”

those were mostly gamblers who lost a lot of money, they tend to leave abusive messages to players especially WTA if they lose money.

Come on though man, you think it was only bettors who were upset with her?

You don’t have to be obtuse about it. There are crazies and bad people in every fanbase, including Djokovic’s. No need to try to defend that behavior.

sure, but there's a good chance they were gamblers. I noticed they leave a lot of nasty messages to random players....because they lost.

Did you even read my post ? That's a rhetorical question, we all know what the answer is. I said there's nothing wrong with what he said about Djokovic's outburst at the Olympics. And don't bring up the USO incident if you have no clue about what I said about it.

When I get close, Ultronians are always there to make sure he stays unlikeable

Yes, I'm sure it's about his fanbase.

Maybe to Aleksandra Krunic but Djoko is way bigger.

But again, nothing is ever Djok's fault and that extends to his fans.

January 6th was just tourist sightseeing.

Nadal on Djoko breaking weeks at number one record:

“During this period of time, for the last few years, a lot of records have been broken. Three players did a lot of important things in the history of our sport,” the Spaniard said.

''As for what that means for the history of tennis, I don't know, it is another broken record, well done.”

:-D :-D

I mean we can have an equivalent of the bible with Nadal statements where he comes across as petty. God knows how he feels towards Novak after RG debacle.

“Surprised Rafa actually bothering to respond, and comment, on a peer’s missteps. That’s generally ‘not the code’ amongst athletes, who all know your own fall may only be a moment away,” McNamee said on Twitter.
"I greatly admire Rafa, so it puzzles me. Highly unusual, and raised my eyebrows, for one great to give free advice to a fellow great. It creates news copy but not ideal. “For the record, I have enormous respect for Rafa & his warrior spirit…King of clay, the surface I love.
But I’m still surprised he, or any player, answers questions on peers’ behaviour. Call me old school."

I don't see that as "a stand". Taking a stand is about something really important that you believe in. I don't like journalists. I know logically that they can't all be bad people, but too many are. Too many would sell their mothers for a story. I do think smashing rackets is a bad example for kids, but I can't think of a top player who doesn't do it now and then except for Rafa. As for the whole "pressure thing", from what I've read that comment was taken out of context. I guess I'm sort of neutral here.
I do agree there is not much journalistic integrity

The Pressure quote was connected to Simone Biles out of context but Djoko did say it in connection with his own situation.
That's why it became ironic when he threw and smashed rackets and it made headlines.

Headlines in general are clickbaits... he lashed out or the like... but in this case the irony was tragic and even meme-worthy. Yes, quite a few players smash rackets but the #1 guy who has been around for 15 years doing it in that situation [after that particular quote] became newsworthy and ALL headlines were about that.

Athlete's code= throwing/breaking rackets [with the bonus of scaring ball kids], yelling at team, throwing obscenities at crowd to show them their place, telling reporters it might snow when they point out meltdowns may have negative outcome.
Bad sportsmanship= speaking a line of censure on racket throwing while heaping praise when specifically questioned by reporters.

Let's include this in TTW dictionary and send to all athletes

Yes, commenting on who is a good model for kids or not is not Nadal's business.
He indeed did go against the code by taking potshots on Novak there.

Eh, it’s a nice change from the fake Djokovic-Nadal unity people came up with to gang up on Fed.

Djokovic and Nadal as well as their fanbases dislike each other even more than Fedovic or Fedal
Presence of Federer only gave them a common reason to maybe gang up on the old guy who had so much slams and still refused to retire.

In Nadal's case he was being touted as Fed's successor in the 2000s who would take over the throne of tennis after Fed vacated it but 2011 happened and Djkovic took the throne from Federer, till 2010 Fed was the fav in 3 slams out of 4 but Novak changed it and Nadal being of Novak's generation would take offence to that :D

Thats why Srdjan said that Nadal was all cool when he was winning over Novak but when Novak started winning then Nadal got sour and their so called friendship all vanished.

Fedal still have a respectable relationship because Nadal knows Fed is the greater player outside clay and Federer knows Nadal is a great clay courter whom he could not subdue even in his peak, so both of them have to come to terms with these facts more than a decade back, so they are chill.

Novak is the gatecrasher in this scenario...

No, the world #1 and supposed biggest ambassador of tennis acts like a petulant child every time everything isn't going his way.
I've never seen a tennis player creating so much buzz outside tennis, than Djokovic before. The Daily Show making jokes about him, John Oliver dedicating whole segments, this is on whole another level even by 2006 Federer standards. Djokovic got so much bigger than tennis itself, lol and it's fricking amazing. The Djokomania is wild and rampaging throughout the world. The guy is getting a sport icon vibe of Muhammad Ali level right now. Lol Astonishing development. o_O

Well the world stopped breathing after Djokovic smashed his racquet. Did you see!? 10 days after the "incident" an we are still talking endlessly about it. The guy is not the Goat. The guy is the God of tennis. Absolutely unbelievable. o_O

No, Ultronians have been triggered by people not loving how trash it is like you do :p
