Paul McNamee: Rafael Nadal went against athletes' code in criticising Novak Djokovic

Well the world stopped breathing after Djokovic smashed his racquet. Did you see!? 10 days after the "incident" an we are still talking endlessly about it. The guy is not the Goat. The guy is the God of tennis. Absolutely unbelievable. o_O

Djokovic attracts a lot of negative attention.
That is not the same as Federer attracting a lot of positive attention.

Publicity can be of 2 types, both of them are contrasts in that.

No, Ultronians have been triggered by people not loving how trash it is like you do :p
Well even in my wildest dreams I would never have thought that during my lifetime I will witness a tennis player being talked about by the whole world over a racquet smash. And we arent talking about tennis dot com coverage here. We are talking about the biggest media outlets out there. This is stuff of Hollywood right now. Even the Queen's royal editor had his say on the matter. Lol Simply incredible really. But that's the level of Djokovic's rock star popularity right now. o_O

Yes, commenting on who is a good model for kids or not is not Nadal's business.
He indeed did go against the code by taking potshots on Novak there.
Simple question.
What happened to the thrown racket?
Did Djoko pick it up and clean the shards?
Or just walked off after trashing his work place leaving it to others to clean up his mess?

There is so many snide remarks from his fans... oh, did the chair get hurt? Yes, probably, chair may have been dented, the shards might cause injury to some one who uses the place next.

Nobody, least of all a pro can throw tantrums and walk off leaving a mess.

And yes, it's a terrible example to kids and adults .

Not popularity, it's notoriety!

You see @MichaelNadal even you brethren is totally focused on Djokovic's smashed racquet. Lol 10 days after the incident, Nadal playing matches in Washington and Toronto but all the whole Nadal fanbase can think about it at the moment is Djokovic, Djokovic, Djokovic. Lol Even you stopped to post food images anymore. All you post lately is Djokovic's related stuff. The guy is just bigger than tennis right now and it's fricking awesome.

You guys are the ones bringing up this topic... the thread has been created by and kept going by Djokofans.

I'm just having a little banter poking holes in their defence:laughing: You have no solid answers, do you?:-D

Stupid thread yet again.

Why don’t we just start a thread called “Djokovic fans vs. Nadal fans: Thunderdome” and just let it go unmoderated. That’s all this forum is recently, stupid fan wars
You think this thread is moderated? Djoko fanboi spent the better part of a day spamming scat photos and no one does a thing

“The guy is just bigger than tennis right now and it's fricking awesome.” Yea bruh, Novak’s temper is a real hot button issue with the general public....

It's not his temper as such but how he poses as Mr. Cool, "pressure is the privilege" guy. Lol. Well, if pressure is the privilege then enjoy it and don't lose your sh1t when things don't go your way. I am a fan of his game, but I am not his fanatic like some of his supporters.

Paul nailed it!

Rafa should stop being such
hypocritical sour loser, it's about time. (n) (n)(n)

Him talking and preaching about
"nice behaviour, role-model" and
setting polite "examples for the kids":

Still butt-hurt since
Nole destroyed his ass at RG2021.

Medvedev did the exact same thing as Novak - not a single word.

Countless legends and top players smashed racquets - he never reacted to that. (n)

Rafa was asked a question about Djoko, not about Med.

tennish-e-a-d August 2, 2021: ¤¤ Djokovic had a bit of a meltdown in his Olympics bronze medal match defeat to Pablo Carreno Busta, throwing a racket into the empty stands before smashing another. ...
Asked about the incident ahead of the Citi Open, Rafael Nadal said: “Luckily there were no people in the stands and nothing else happened, but hey, they are things that happen from time to time.
“You have to try to avoid them. The image is not the best.
“It is important to avoid this, especially as a role model for many children. He is the number one in the world and one of best in history.
“It’s strange that someone so successful reacts this way from time to time, but in the end he’s very competitive and reacts like that.” ¤¤

By the way, you are a cheater going against the forum's code - you posted a photoshopped picture of Rafa. The original is:

The 3rd picture of Rafa you posted proves that you kwow nothing about hand signals in doubles :-D:
