No, his last two #1s don't mean as much as his 2011 #1 since his main competitor didn't play for six or seven months of the year. 2011 was fair and square because he beat all comers.

Cry me a river. Not Nole's fault that his main competitor can't last a full season anymore. Nadal should really take more care of his fragile body.

You do realize, don't you, that before that run of Novak's, Rafa had won five straight and afterwards Rafa came back and beat him five out of the six next times they played so that run of seven isn't all that important in the big picture except for historical trivia. Out of those three runs, the h2h was 10-8 in Rafa's favour. Of course this stat will blow the minds of those who think the only year that tennis mattered was 2011.

Nadal was the higher ranked player at the time, that's what makes Nole's seven win streak all the more impressive.

You DO realize, don't you, that I was discussing the absurd notion that one take out an (unprecedented) entire year of Novak's career like it was some sort of fluke-you don't beat somebody 7 straight times as a "fluke."

 6 can play that game for all I care. Nadal>>>>>>Djokovic as of the time of this post, and the King isn't done :p When Djokovic can win more than 1 slam a year, maybe I'll raise an eyebrow. I remain carefree.

You mean, Nadal's career accomplishments are better at the time of this post, he, himself isn't better-because of the hilariously bad results I mentioned a couple of posts ago, you can stick a fork in *******, 'cause he's done.

Exactamundo. Besides, sometimes the things that one ingests often come back to haunt you-you know, sweets, fried foods, and...other things.

Bottom line is, I'm very confident in saying that Djokovic won't come anywhere near Nadal in career achievements. That is really all that matters.

If you're only talking about the Slams, I agree with you. Everything else - not really.

Agree with you. Nadal will always have the trump card, when it comes to who won the most slams, but everything else I see Djokovic equalling or even surpassing.

I think Djokovic will own the Masters record, will have more weeks at number one, more WTF, more YE number ones, and I think that H2H could shift his way by the time the dust settles.

The slams will be hard too reach (but I do not exclude that from happening), but looking at his other achievements vs Nadal it isn't really that far away. He has already passed him in several important records.

This is true. That's why rafans wanted entire discussion about slam race. Nole was getting there in all other stats.

There is no basis. He is extrapolating from Nole's 2011 like Nole would be able to replicate this form in every match. Doesn't work this way.

You can't say peak Nole owns peak Federer, since peak Federer was 4 years and assume Nole would play 4 years like 2011, when he can't. It's a fallacy.

Also it doesn't make any sense why a car who wins more races would have lower top speed :).

This peak talk doesn't have any evidence or logic behind it.
2011
2015
2021
2023

That was a feeling then and most nolefams were asked to shut up about it. But all of them were proven right.
