No “but one”. Every slam final loss was against Federer or Djokovic.Medvedev will likely win 4-5 slams, at minimum. But I’ll still rate Murray higher. 11 slam finals, all but one against Federer or Djokovic in their prime years.
Please don't make me defend Murray. This is an interesting matchup. Med probably wins the serve-return complex, but Murray has the right toolbox to expose the holes in Med's game.
On a fast HC, this could be a coinflip matchup. On slower HCs, Murray probably has a clear advantage.
Sure, Murray is considerably better in many ways, but Med would have a field day with his second serve and he's also better at botting, so it would be a match, is my pointPlease don't make me defend Murray.
Medvedev doesn't have much of an offensive return because of his court positioning though. Murray isn't the kind of player that blows people away, usually, so yeah they'd have a match and it would probably awful to watch lol.Sure, Murray is considerably better in many ways, but Med would have a field day with his second serve and he's also better at botting, so it would be a match, is my point
it Murray unlocks the "humiliate med at net" cheat code it would be watchable, but yep if both stay back if can be super putrid lolMedvedev doesn't have much of an offensive return because of his court positioning though. Murray is overrated at the US Open, though.Murray every time. All he has to do is drag the match past the 3 hour mark and he'll win, and that's Murray's bread and butter.
Not probably, I'm afraid.Medvedev doesn't have much of an offensive return because of his court positioning though. Murray isn't the kind of player that blows people away, usually, so yeah they'd have a match and it would probably awful to watch lol.
Let's take their peak versions at the current age of Medvedev. Both defeated Djokovic at the USO to win their first slam - Murray beat peak Djokovic but Medvedev probably the mentally strongest version of Novak. Both also reached the Aus Open final immediately afterwards.
Looking at their hard court stats :
Murray has more titles, more slam finals but Med reached a higher year end ranking and has a claim to be the best hardcourt player of his generation.
Who wins peak to peak - Match is played on an outdoor hard court.
Closed captioned Murray is levels ahead of Medvedev.
Medvedev is going to have atleast 5-6 hc slams and then there won't be any comparison or debate.
He really should have though. That 2020 Rafa meltdown did him in.Haha.
